Afternoon my lovelies,
Hugs and handshakes and squishes all round.
Well wombat here missed her bus get to the blood test and had heeled boos on. So ended up walking a mile in half in them. My poor feet.
Well got to the appointment just on time. But no time to get a drink so she jabbed me twice and was nearly sent out to to some water. Got a nice massive bruise. Will find out in the next few days if anything is wrong.
Off to cinema shortly with action man to watch a choice of his film assassins creed. Based on a computer game.
So need to go and put my face on.
Have to agree with Tea and Ono about bristol grinding to halt for no reason.
Every have a good afternoon
Yours

I flipping love the AC games. In two minds about the film as I find films of games can feel a bit 2D when you're used to the open, immersive game version. Do quite fancy it..... am rubbish at actually getting to the cinema though.
Got about an hour left in the office then can finally start the trek home.... am literally counting the minutes.0 -

There was a brief thing on the TV a few days ago about a new VR experience at Stonehenge, where you would be walking amongst the stones as they would have looked when complete.
That would be great, I reckon.
They could extend the concept to include places like Roman Villas and other sites which are now just ruins.
I'd really like that.

So in other, not codemonkey mumping about her job news, I am planning a trip for Mr CPs 40th birthday, which is in 5 years. Why am I planning already? Because I want to take him to an event which is ridiculously expensive and I've been thinking that as a special treat, I might book first class flights. I've never flown first class before and as it will involve Mr CPs first long haul flight, it would be a nice experience, but it does add on megabucks to the price. Hence the 5 years of saving. :cool:Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

I'm on my own in not being interested in the Assassin's creed film then! :rotfl:
Did got to see Rogue One last week (excellent IMO, though I am a huge Star Wars fan so biased), would like to see Passengers and A monster calls . Missed "Your Name" completely(being Japanese it didn't make it to any of the big chains). I'm also fairly rubbish about going though, so will probably miss both! It's only that the cinema is in Cribbs Causeway and I pass within 1/4 mile of it on my way home from work that gets me there at all. If I go home first I tend to want to stay there!

Do you really mean first class, or do you mean a sort of business class? The latter has those lie-flat sleeping pods, and you have a blanket and slippers, nice food and champers and stuff. It does add a lot to the cost, but is far, far cheaper than a real first-class.
I've only used them once, when I went to Sri Lanka, and only on the outward flight, but if I went long-haul again, I'd want to repeat it, possibly even both ways.(I just lurve spiders!)

I've only ever flown economy before but we've upgraded to premium economy for when we go to Cuba. You don't get a lie-flat bed but you do get more space, proper plates and champagne and it only added £350 each for both ways.
Ono, you're not on your own. Despite the fact that I have a Limitless card, the cinema is a 5-minute walk from my flat and I really like Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard I still can't be bothered to go to see it.
I'm not overly fussed about seeing Passengers but will be going to see A Monster Calls tonight.0 -

I think it depends on which airline. On BA you have the business class option but Virgin it's economy or upper class, at least to NY. But I won't know where we'll be going until the year before, so I don't know which airline, or even which airport we'll have to fly from.
We normally fly on budget airlines, but even then we pay for priority boarding and last time I paid for priority security passes too, because I always end up stuck behind the person who thinks the security rules don't apply and has to unpack their whole bag to put their toiletries into a clear bag, remove laptops etc.
Is it really intimidating Pyxis? Part of me worries that everyone will be looking at me wondering what the girl in the Primark clothes is doing in posh class?
Ono - I'm not interested in Assassins Creed either. Loved Rogue One though. I don't go to the cinema much these days. I bought cheap travel insurance so I could get meerkat movies and I think I only used it once. We have all the movie channels so if you wait a month or two, most films show up on that.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

The class I was in, and it was with .sri Lankan airways, with the lie flat pods etc., was not a bit intimidating! I was in my old travel tatt anyway! You need to be comfortable in your clothes, especially if you'll be sleeping in them! As far as I could tell, everyone was "normal". The two ladies next to me, it turned out they were on the same holiday as me, and they weren't in the slightest bit up themselves!
I've done "Europe Plus" or whatever it's called, with B.A. on short haul, you know, the bit up the front of the plane with extra space and nice cooked meals, and the lie/flat pod thing was like a step up from that. You had lots of little extras, too. It was really nice!
And you have use of the lounges at the airports, where there are any, which is really relaxing......free food and soft drinks and comfy armchairs to wait for your flight in.
Oh yes! I can recommend it!
Trouble is , you can very easily get used to it!(I just lurve spiders!)
