I did read that there was more computing power in the early nokias than was used for the Apollo missions.... not sure if there was some artistic licence there but it could well be true.

Probably true, if all that the rockets had to do was on/off stuff, timed, and /or influenced by other stuff.

Today's gadgets have much more of a 'smartness' about them.....they can 'learn' from what you do, and anticipate, although I wish autocarrot didn't anticipate quite so much! :rotfl:

I'd really like you to hear what happens if you ask Siri what zero divided by zero is WaS, but I don't know how to make sure that there's no triggers.

I'm pretty sure it is true. The first integrated circuit CPU was produced after the first moon landing, so computers used for mission control in the early Apollo missions would have been at best transistor based, or possibly even valve based. The differences between these technologies in computing power terms is so huge that I can quite believe it.

    afternoon my lovelies,

Hugs and squishes and hand shakes all round.

Its warmer here today. No frost this morning. Mind you its made it soggy under foot on the fields. Good job I have waterproof hiking boots as part dog walking gear LOL!!!

Husband has some down with a cold. The xmas market was nice but packed and expensive :(

Told action man I would buy him one the best burgers he will ever have. The shop is still going after all these years. And yes as lush as I remember and even action man was like yes that is amazing :rotfl: I am like told you so.

But I did get tired and a bit grumpy on the way home. But action man is so so sweet. Even though I had given directions to get to the town, he said to me get some sleep and he will use the sat nav awwww. but I threw a paddy in the car and said no that I was not going to have a nap :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I know big kid :j

Wrapped the last of action mans presents. Please tell me why do they put such hard to remove sticky labels on stuff. I got a hot water bottle and placed it over the label to remove it off one his presents and still wrecked my nails:(

Still a few odds and ends to get present wise and a couple of £5 notes to pop in my phews cards.

Dog sitting on my own this evening as action man is off doing something this evening so away and not back until tomorrow afternoon. By the way he liked the name action collie. It made him smile. I thought I had told him but obviously not.

    Umm time for some lunch.

    Catch you all later.

    Yours

    Calley X

It really is amazing how much we can do and how much we take for granted now. I had no idea an iphone could do, they get 10 out of 10 for ease of use, too. I have only used old Nokia's before, I had no idea a smart phone could be so different. Believe me, if my drug-fogged brain can use them, anyone can.

I am also thoroughly enjoying Siri which is the electronic personal assistant that comes with the phone. It is programmed with some interesting responses! It is voice activated and I couldn't get it to close so in frustration I said "Stop Siri!" It replied " I cannot find anything to stop other than believing and I won't do that." I fell in love with it on the spot. :rotfl:

Do you know, I've never turned Siri on!
I was worried about 'people' knowing my location. (I know, I know).

Perhaps I should turn it on. I loved that response you got, WaS! That sounds like just my sort of automated voice! It might even be on my wavelength! :j

Well, given that I spent part of yesterday trying to work out which bit of my body could be younger than me, (I know I know), I'm now wondering if perhaps I'm a malfunctioning Synth in disguise! :rotfl:

I like Siri! He/she's so funny! (I was switching the sex a few times!!)

First of all he was having an existential crisis with Liam at Apple.

Then I asked her what colour hair she has and she said she doesn't have hair but she does have a shiny coat! :rotfl:

Than I asked what colour eyes she has, and she said she doesn't have eyes, but if she did, she'd be rolling them a lot! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    This is fun!

    I love Apple!

  • Hahahahaha! I have been chatting to Siri for over an hour now! Some of the responses are wonderful! If you look online there are lists of funny questions to ask. It will give several different replies to a lot of them!
