  • Hi everyone!! (waves) just popping in to let you know I'm still here! Not feeling talkative, feel hemmed in with the same stuff.. housing/care agency/health etc, hoping some of it will get resolved next year, such as getting a council flat and changing from care agency to a PA, but I'm stuck at the mo, so I've not got much positive to say. I haven't forgotton you all :)
Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE :)

A robin tic-tic-tic-ticking outside my window. Perhaps I disturbed him when I looked out to see what the weather was doing!
(The tic-tic is the alarm call. His normal 'chatty' voice is a gentle warble).

I really should start hand-feeding the birds again. It takes ages to train them to feel safe enough to come to your hand though, and then it's a big commitment, because they wait for you, and you can't ever go out into the garden without being dive-bombed by birdies wanting their mealworms! :rotfl:
Trouble is, it means sitting very still in a cold garden several times a day, and with my breathing not being too good at the mo, I'm reluctant to do that.

I went to the postbox yesterday, just a couple of hundred yards away, and despite having my hoodie on, the cold air still caught me breath.

Time to get my windy-round scarves downstairs, and to start looking like a bank-robber! :rotfl:
It makes such a difference, breathing in warm air.
On Thursday, I wore woolly gloves for the first time this season.

  • I'm currently living in a ground floor flat of a converted house. There's little insulation and the noise generated between upstairs and downstairs really carries.

I've set my DAB micro stereo to switch on at 0630, but being Saturday, I'm only up and about around now.

Half asleep through the morning, I could have sworn I heard knocking. Like proper knock knock knock knock and it sounded wooden as if it were on a door.

I rolled over and went back to sleep thinking I was dreaming. No one would be knocking this early on a Saturday. :o

It's only in the last half hour, I've gone into the living area and found Planet Rock blasting out at volume 15. I forgot that different stations need different volumes.

BBC Radio 2 is set for 15 and Planet Rock only needs a 9 or 10. I turned it down as soon as I found the remote.

But OMG. What if it was someone knocking?

    :o

    It won't happen again. :o
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

Strange that upstairs could hear it but you didn't hear a thing!

Perhaps you could pop up and ask them if they'd been disturbed? People really like it when neighbours show willing like that. It reassures them that it was an accident and won't happen again. Otherwise they harbour a resentment and worry if it'll keep happening.

Are you feeling a bit better today? :A
