WaS, do mine! Do mine! You can have regular cuddle breaks with DA dog.

So yesterday's meeting was torturous. . I was counting the number of buzzwords used in one presentation and gave up at 92. These events are really difficult for introverts. I ended up going home and tidying up my CV because ugh.

Sounds horrible code. I used to play meeting bingo with a great mate of mine and that was a lot of fun (although we once had to make excuses and leave as we were laughing too much)... but it's no fun on your own.

Have come to the inescapable conclusion that work is a steaming pile of yak poo.

We used to make ourselves little bingo cards with words/phrases on, then mark them off when people said them :D Ridiculous corporate speak like "going forward", "low-hanging fruit" and the like.

Kept us entertained for ages :rotfl:.

"Creative and innovative" - we'd like you to do twice as much work as you're doing now and we're going to cut what we're paying you to do it by half.

My last employer used to bang on about the company DNA, which generally made me want to throw something at people
My finest hour was when they were discussing personality profiling for recruitment and the CEO who was selling it to us asked a rhetorical question about why his might be different to one he had done in his younger days. My response that it was probably because they were inaccurate, misleading and culturally biased didn't go down particularly well.

Pretty much. I have no patience for that kind of thing which is why I'll never be senior management. Really, I just want to hang out with my dog.

Yep - cat, book, tea.... no people!

Am starting to feel that way about non-work things too. Am really in two minds about whether to continue with brownies or not. It's on this evening and my overall feeling is one of dread.... not great for supposedly fun hobbies!

Do you not feel better when you get there, Tea?
I struggle to get to things sometimes but then am generally glad I made the effort. The cold really doesn't help, though.

Not really, with this one. My default position is always "stay in the house", but generally once I make myself get out and about I do enjoy things. But I'm just not enjoying this anymore.... to be honest I find the person in charge very intimidating and I really don't look forward to seeing her. Am very torn as I still really like the idea of it (much more than the reality!) so am finding it hard to admit defeat.

Don't forget the winter urge to hibernate - when it starts to get cold and the nights draw in you really just want your duvet and high calorie food. I feel I'd make an excellent bear.
