I've been feeling like it should be the weekend since Wednesday morning.
Got anything planned, or is it a rest and recuperation weekend?

  • I am planning a quiet weekend, have some Italian to do and the minutes of last weekend's meetings to type up, but no digging in the garden or DIY around the house.

Ono - it sounds like you need a DVD and duvet day. I hope that you have a nice, relaxing weekend and that it makes you feel better.

thanks Elsein.. what I'm worried about the most is that they might not get to the bottom as to why I'm so ill.. that thought seems even more scary than a diagnosis!
Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE :)

Know exactly what you mean ono. I'm exhausted this week, like the start of a cold but it's not become anything. Just low level sneezing, chest congestion and tiredness. I have three hours left before I can go home and weekend. Thankfully one of those hours is lunch :j

I think I've worked out what's bothering me so much about the new place. Everyone is very corporate and they don't really talk much about things outside of work. I haven't heard anyone laugh, a proper laugh, not a forced corporate, look how jolly we are, laugh but an actual genuine laugh. I don't fit very well into corporate culture, as far as I'm concerned, I do my job to earn money to do fun stuff but I spend 8 hours a day here so the lack of interaction puzzles me.

E.g. For fans of TWD this was a big week. I have yet to hear anyone in the office mention it.

I saw on another thread that baileys is on offer for £10 this weekend in Asda.

WaS, hello. Hope you are still reading.

    code, it takes time.

I am struggling with constructive criticism today (borderline pd issue). I can dish it out but can't take it emotionally. How do you all deal with it?

I sulk. Then I think about it. Then I generally end up being able to consider it rationally, and to see if there is anything I should do about it.
It does seem to depend though if it's work related or personal. Personal is a lot harder to deal with because it's me as an individual, not my practice. If that makes sense. And I'm a bit rubbish at self-reflection. I'd far rather ignore my faults, and hope everyone else does as well.
Plus it also depends on the person dishing it out. If it's someone close to me, it's more difficult to hear, probably because then it's almost certainly more personal. If it's from parent, I strop and we generally just end up having a row.:o

Is it acceptable to barge my way in next door and take a hammer to the very annoying high pitched squeaky toy that they've been playing with all morning?

Will it cause more problems for you if you do, in the way of retaliation against you and OH?
