Georgie - well done, again!! You're making me feel very unfit and lazy (or could it be the fact that I'm unfit and lazy that's making me feel it? :D )

I now wish that I liked Tea (the drink that is) as I want one of those penguins.

Lambyr - I have plenty of days like that, sometimes I find that it's when I've had too much caffeine rather than not enough.

WaS - if you prefer the original version of it I don't see that changing your name would be too much of a problem, you'll just have to get used to explaining to people how they should pronounce it.

Although my surname's very uncommon it is spelt exactly how it sounds, that doesn't stop me having to spell it out for everyone, often multiple times, though.

I believe you! Don't work too hard, have fun too! I love unusual names, my first and middle names are very boring!

My last name looks very english now and it's pronounced just as it's spelt. If you are familiar with german though you can easily work out what it's supposed to be. I have always loved the correct spelling ever since I was a child, it has the letters a and e together which always made me feel very exotic at the age of 7! I often think it would be a respectful gesture to my great granddad to change it back, as well as being my preference. We don't need to hide it anymore. I shall think on it.

I may not be operating at full efficiency today.

Mum asked for a coffee. I figured I could do with one myself, although I've cut down a bit on the caffeine intake today after yesterday's headache - it's better today, though still feels a bit like my head is stuffed with wool. So off I went to make coffee for us.

Anyhoo, make mum a coffee, but I don't present her with the coffee. Instead I try and hand her a big jar of coffee.

Then I went and actually called E "E" on the phone. It's not even her actual initial. Oh dear...[

    :rotfl: Poor Lambyr!
Did E realise why you called her E?

Your last sentence reminded me of the time when WaS said she had started to call her partner WaSp instead of his real name! :rotfl:

    But why not? :D

That's nice WaS :) I was having a conversation yesterday about changing my surname. I still use my married name, despite having been divorced for about 15 years. I keep saying I'm going to change it back but I got sick of having to spell my maiden name all the time, and it never being pronounced right. At the time I got married I was so pleased to have a nice normal name, but tbh I now think it's too common lol. My first name isn't distinctive either so I feel my name doesn't really mean anything, if that makes sense.... like I may as well actually be called Joe Bloggs.

There's about 1000 people in my company and there are three with the exact same name (first and surname) as me.

You could always ask people to start calling you Tea! :)

This could start a new trend!
Mind you, I wouldn't mind being called Pyxis! Although it might destroy my anonymity a bit! :rotfl:

My surname is not a difficult one if people just think about it but I get all different pronunciations. It does help weed out unwanted phone-calls though. Very rare to get a non Scot get it right!

I would be tempted to make up a new name, tea!

I actually love the name, Pyxis. I would use it as a first name for a girl happily.

The thing is, people still hesitate over the english version of my name and ask me how to spell it. It is exactly as it sounds but I do get some odd spellings so going back to the german spelling wouldn't actually make things any worse. In fact, it could get easier because there is a german company that is quite well known with the same name. It's a pretty common name in Germany but not common at all here. I would quite like to change my first name too, I already shorten it to something I prefer. I wouldn't change my middle name though because it goes back generations on my dad's side, all the girls have that middle name and I quite like the history behind that.

    Afternoon my Lovelies,

Well no idea what is wrong with me. Did not sleep well last night but got up at 8.30 ish and went out in to the garden did a small amount of work while listening to my audio book. Any how around 12 ish started to flag came in and then spent about 3 hrs sleeping

I found out that lego man is also in to star wars. Shame as I could have called him han solo as harrison ford at that time was a bit tasty ;) I bought him last night a star wars kinder egg :j

Anyway had a bit of a drama yesterday and got in the Dog house with husband. I left him yesterday and said see him at the weekend as I have other plans for the rest of the week. And he said what about thursday. I am like ???? he has a hospital appointment. I said I got plans with lego man you will have to get a bus.

Anyway was texting last night with lego man and mentioned it in passing. He said what do you want to do. I said no matter what I do someone will not be happy. Even though he was at work he phoned me and said what the stress about love. So the plan is he is coming over I cook some lunch I then go off and take husband to appointment and then come back. leaving lego man free rein of my house :rotfl:I said as long as you are happy with that. he said I am sure I can find something to do. My reply was rifling through my underwear drawer :rotfl:

He is so cool and relaxed. We briefly touched on how I don't like myself on monday. We were out at lunch and he said a conversation for another time. I agreed. But he said could not understand it he thinks I am so full of confidence and so bubbly.

    Penguin about children

I have never wanted children at all. I have know since I was about 12/13 motherhood was not for me. If it happened it did, but was never part of my plan. For many reasons. Don't think I would make a good mother.

Anyway I can see both sides of the story. Of course they are so excited about having a baby. That no one else enters their thoughts. They don't think about others feelings. And just want everyone to know and be happy for them.

And of course if you are struggling to having children its a horrible feeling. To know that you can't have what they have. And put that painted smile on your face.

I have seen work colleagues and friends go through the pain every month. And have IVF. The pain is horrible to witness. Just because I don't want children does not mean I don't feel for them I do very much.

Its a very fine line and a very difficult situation to deal with. And if you are like me you try not to hurt or upset anyone.

So mega hugs for (((((Tea, Izzy, code)))))

    Penguin End

Flipping heck written an essay today :rotfl:

I will think about doing battle again in the garden. Its clouded over. How I like it best to do work outdoors.

Hugs and squishes and handshakes all round for everyone.

    Yours

    Pyxis I know.

But not sure what you are trying to get at?

Are you saying I should not leave him in my house alone?
