I have a terrible head for heights - can't even walk over a high bridge without panicking. And we won't mention the time I got stuck on top of a Mexican pyramid.
But both hot air balloon and glider were fine - I think maybe because it feels less real from that height.
My only suggestion for a glider would be the L and R on the back of your hands, if like me it takes a moment's thought to work out which is which. Makes having a go yourself much smoother. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pyxis, I am sure it's another cyst if cysts operate anything like mine do - they delight in lulling you into a false sense of security and then reappearing

As expected the GP is referring me foe an u/s scan and mammogram. I had a mammogram a year ago. I always take up any offers of those.
Plus I had had a good feel only around 2-3weeks ago, and there wasn't anything there then, not that I felt, anyway.
As I said before, it's just that it's several years since the last one, 12 years, I looked it up. Plus cysts tend to disappear after the menopause, so I thought that's what had happened.
Anyway, I should get an appointment within about two weeks, she said.
Right, you lot.........away with you and examine your breasts!
Yes, even you, Ono! Men can get Breast C. too!

Had something nice happen today.
One of my tyres seemed to be losing air. A few days ago it had looked a bit flattish, so I went to the air thing and topped it up. It was low compared to the other tyres. Still drove ok, but even so..........
A couple of days later, same thing. Topped it up. So after I'd been to the doc's, I went and checked it again, and yes, down again. Couldn't see anything obvious on the tyre.
So, after checking it today and topping it up again, I went straight to my local tyre place, which has given me good service in the past. Chappie jacked the car up, looked at the tyre. Looked ok. So he took it off and did the soapy water test. He said it was the valve. He took the valve out and put another one on, then replaced the tyre.
When I asked how much, he said......that's ok!
Now he had spent about 15 minutes, start to finish, and had replaced the valve, so I was expecting to pay something! When I asked him how the valve could leak when the cap was on, he fetched it and explained it nicely.
That's the second time this firm has done something for me without charging!
Anyway, I went straight to the corner shop and got a box of individual apple pies for them to have with their lunch.

Oh dear! Are those the ones with lots of very steep looking steps up the front?
It would be a tandem paraglide, so I assume he'd be steering? So, with you and WW both saying that it was fine, I'm thinking I might give it a go!
Hope you get an appointment through soon Pyxis. How lovely of you to buy the mechanics some apple pies, I'm sure they went down very well!

ER has got a urine infection so that may be accounting for the slight relapse.
I am having a bit of a pathetic moment because I got a bit firm with the hospital last night and I am feeling wimpish about going in tomorrow. The hospital has signs all over the place saying that relatives should raise any issues, but even so. Actually, thank you to MSE as it was on this (moneysaving) site that I found out previously that urine infections can cause confusion in the elderly.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Been having a bit of a reflective day.
Job with E's dad is a goer. Will be starting end of the summer. Little bit of prep work I can be getting on with for that.
The suggestion E made for another career option, well it's a bit of pot luck. I've done my research - it might work, it might not. Wouldn't cost me too much to find out though, so I'm gonna give that a whirl. It will give me something to keep focused on for the rest of the summer. I've bought what I need for it today. Tomorrow I can start doing it.
I told E of my growing disillusionment with living in the UK. It was nice to hear that she shared some of my concerns but she was quick to point out that there's nothing much I can do about it right now, which of course I know. Still have a job to do here, caring for my mum, and need to put something together to make some money before I can even think about moving abroad. And I kinda need to learn the lingo - Guten tag! Ich heisse Lambyr. Wie geht es ihnen? Wie heissen Sie? Mir geht us gut, danke. Ich sprechen ein bisshen Deutsch, aber nicht zehr gut - will probably only get me so far, particularly if I didn't move to Germany. Might be able to wing it in Flanders or the Netherlands... :rotfl:
But she didn't nix the idea entirely. She did say that there may be the possibility in the future to move to Europe with her company, especially since she qualifies for an Irish passport so won't be losing her EU citizenship, but we're both some way off that at the mo.
So I guess it's not a no, but it's a non-committal, which is pretty much the best I could ask for. I can't expect her to go along with a half-bummed, ill-thought out plan. I suppose it's up to me to prove I can contribute. Ugh, this is all starting to seem terribly adult.
She suggested we plan a holiday together, since we haven't been away together for a long time and never as a couple. She said she'd see about her mum maybe taking over for me for a week, once I've got everything settled with the new job. She's clearly forgotten that I am the world's biggest pain to plan such a thing with... and I'm probably gonna go full on neurotic about checking on my mum. Still it's an idea.
So I've been looking at things, planning things... thinking of the best way to proceed with things. That's why I'm up at 2:24am blabbering away on here. Mind doesn't want to shut off tonight.
Weekend was nice though, especially cos E told me she loved me. She hadn't actually said that yet, not in that way at least. Weird thing though, cos of our history, as happy as I am to hear it, it made me feel kinda bad... if I hadn't been such a coward all those years, she wouldn't have spent so long thinking she'd done something awful to me. Guess I can only try to make up for that and all the time we lost.
Anyway, best try and get some sleep. Have a bit of a headache... probably cos I'm staring at a bright white screen in an otherwise dark room. She would always like to say,

That all sounds really good, Lambyr.
You have something to focus on for now, ie. your project and then the new job, and you have a longer-term project to think about/plan for, ie the possible move abroad.
Your German looks quite good from here! It can only get better! German evening classes/"Linguaphone"-type course? Es gehts dir gut!
(I take it it's ok to use 'du' with you?)
And E isn't averse to a move, either! And she loves you! See! Things are looking up! :T
Bit intrigued by the reference to Flanders/Netherlands. Their type of "German" is quite a bit different, isn't it? Although Dutch is a lot more like English than people realise, from what I can see with my limited exposure to it!
I know a word in Dutch! I know the Dutch for clock!
(It's klok!) :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

Well done WW for picking up on factors affecting ER. I don't think you need to feel wobbly about your next visit, but don't forget if you have any more issues there's always PALS for support if you don't want to go the full complaints route. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
