Is it just here (not this thread!)

Or is it me being more sensitive

No, I think there's less tolerance and more of a pack mentality than there used to be. New posters accused of being trolls, people being incredibly and unneccessarily rude under the banner of "I tell it like it is." Doesn't really affect me directly as I tend to not go there, but there's been times I've thought "ouch" and PM'd people to tell them not to take it to heart. Things always change as places get bigger, but it's not always a good change.

  • I read an awful lot of MSE and tend to see it as lots of people with lots of different views that have been coloured by what they have been through, all with different ways of expressing their differing tolerances. I have been around for 8 years and it hasn't changed that much really. Initially there was less arguing because there was a smaller user base, the bigger it gets the more the opinions and expressions of them differ. There are group mentalities at times but that happens on all forums, even the one I used to manage.

I don't post elsewhere because I know I take things personally if I am not very well, that is my fault not other peoples. So I do all of us a favour by staying out of discussions but I read a lot and rarely see anyone being particularly spiteful for the sake of it, just differences between people that are sometimes expressed bluntly. I am the eternal optimist who likes to think kindly of everyone though so my opinion probably means nothing. :rotfl:

Gitdog and I have been doing some desensitisation to his rubber floor aversion. It's a bit blurred because I was waving a sardine under his nose as an added incentive to stick his belly down. Judge for yourselves how well it's going!

I wonder what it is about rubber floors that he doesn't like?

Is it just lying on them, or does he not like walking on them either?

Doesn't like walking on them either. Which does !!!!!! up training nights a bit as they have a new rubber floor and he goes on strike the minute he gets in the door. I've even resorted to smearing sardines all over the mats to make them more enticing. If I can't crack it we're going to have to stop going to the classes. :(

Still ill but I survived work (if not slightly peeved at being told by my supervisor he has the same but last week but still worked 50hours  yes make me feel like a complete failure for feeling so ill and struggling)

Swain has insisted I come to his for cuddles and some much needed TLC, and chinese too. So hopefully that might perk me up a bit.

    MU,

    Ignore your germ-ridden supervisor.

Again, I am so impressed with how wonderfully Swain looks after you. What a star! (My husband says that should be usual in a relationship but it is still nice to be grateful about it).
