I have exerted myself and planted a load of seeds. All I need to do now is try not to kill them before they need to fend for themselves outside.

It's amazing how much difference the clocks changing makes. If it's dark at 6 pm I'm telling myself the days over and there's no point starting anything. Whereas now it's still light I'm wandering round looking for things to do. I'm definitely a summer person.

Wasn't the storm wonderful? I loved every second and sat up until 5am staring out of the window, opening it slightly and putting my arm out to feel the rain! I love storms!

Aw, well done to your son and well done to you, Sue. My heart goes out to him having his arms and legs help to stop his movements, if it is anything like my condition that would have felt unbearable. I am so glad he no longer has to deal with those teachers. It is really so lovely to hear that he is getting on so well, he is credit to you and to himself, no wonder you are a proud mum!

hi guys, just popping in, I'm feeling so low and sad after the double confrontations I did last week with the hospital and my mother. I hate public holidays, they highlight how painful it is to have an evil mother

Big hugs, Faerie. I understand, I found holidays hard for many years. I don't now but it has been 25 years since I have been in contact with my mother and time and distance has helped. Try to think of the positive things, maybe make a list? You were AMAZING with the hospital last week, think of how many people you might have saved? You do have friends both here and in person who think the world of you, you aren't alone.

I know it doesn't make up for having a loving mother but the way I think about it some people aren't very nice no matter what their role is. You did nothing wrong, your mother just isn't a very nice person, in no way is that ever your fault. Have another hug.

- This is a thread for support. We have discovered some good friends on here, but we promise always to welcome and include new people, and not to be cliquey.

- People may make suggestions to help each other, and might even ask if the suggestions were helpful or have been carried out, but we'll really try not to nag each other or put too much pressure on.

- The normal board rules about sexism, racism, homophobia etc. apply, but if we are careful we should be able to discuss almost anything without breaching board rules - so far we have discussed subjects ranging from child abuse to incontinence!

-If someone thinks that too much pressure is being applied, they can post the trigger word PENGUIN and flag up the fact that they believe there's a potential for someone feeling too nagged to do something. ANYONE could post PENGUIN if they felt there was a danger that suggestions were being enforced too much.

Similarly, if they want to discuss something that might be a trigger for some people, then posting PENGUIN would be a warning that what follows in the whiteout might be a trigger.


- So, if you think something might be a PENGUIN, please post something like the green bit which follows.

"Possible penguin about.........(Type of Trigger)" The trigger might be:- child abuse, marital abuse/violence, paranoia, stalkers, death, etc. (It's important to indicate the type of trigger, so that people can avoid reading it if they need to).

Then, when you post, repost the word PENGUIN above the discussion. Then post the penguiny bit in white! And the phrase END OF PENGUIN when you have finished.

It will look like this. You will be able to see the white text if you highlight it or if you quote it, (so please don't 'quote' a post containing a penguin onto the thread!)

The bits of the forum that I frequent have actually got a lot nicer. Touch wood, there hasn't been as much sniping and row-starting as there was a year ago.

If you mean the Marriages and Relationships Board, I don't go on very many of those threads, so don't really know. From what I have seen, some of the the threads started seem to be contentious issues, so might be more prone to dissent.



Most of the threads I go on are in the Arms, and the vast majority are quite jolly and humorous, or,just chat about a particular topic. There is the occasional volcano, but not that often, really.
There did used to be a lot of hassle, but not so much these days!

Them's a sub-board in the Arms called Discussion Time! I wasn't talking about that, but about the general part of the Arms.

Discussion Time tends to focus on political stuff, and can get quite hairy!
