We are pretty weird in the UK. We use miles and feet and inches, stones and pounds and pints, but we're taught in metres and kilometers at school.
Personally, I measure my height in feet and inches and my weight in stones and pounds and distance in miles, but when I cook, I use grams and litres.

Well a yard of ale is the same length as a yard on the ground!
Namely three feet/36 inches.
Not much less than a metre. (O.9metre)(I just lurve spiders!)

Yes, but I'm not going to put my yard of ale on the ground. I'd spill my beer! :rotfl:Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

You empty it first, then use it as a measuring stick! :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

Now that is impressive
Hope everything is ok.
I'm currently working on a story about a serial killer. My google searches are getting a bit weird. Just now, I'm finding out how much MDMA you need to put in a drink to kill someone.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Yeah I'm fine
Just been doing a lot of driving today and am tired. You know when you're reading something but just stay on the same spot and can't take it in properly? Well that's me tonight.
To be hopes nothing happens to Mr CP, or your laptop/tablet, could throw up some very interesting information for the police! :rotfl:0 -
I'm using an incognito browser, but I can't work out if that makes it look shadier :rotfl:
I've got 3 works in progress, atm and another one that I want to write based on my very weird dream. They're all very different though. My aim is to actually finish one, no matter how rubbish. So now I have google searches for MDMA and other words for brothels.
I know that feeling very well Georgie. Sounds like you need a good sleep.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Really weird week.......
PENGUIN about death Biological father died on Monday - very mixed feelings as he was not a nice human. And whilst I might be very mixed up about it all, I was most surprised and upset that hubby just went out with his mates as planned. Was I unreasonable to expect him to stay in just in case I needed him for support? It's not like him at all as he is usally good with support n stuff PENGUIN END
Just managed to get todays assignment submitted for 10pm and brain is completely squished as I have been at it since 5am this morning. Plus very busy with work and trying to get everything organised for holiday next week. am I the only one who find going on holiday one of THE most stressful things?
Anyhoo........ like I say........... just a weird week..............and then I saw the torn up dummies guide to training for dogs picci and I laughed my little socks off (Sorry Gitdog!) Thanks you JM!
Recommended books - try Jodi Talor - The St Marys series of books. I defy anyone not to find them a good read - fantasy time travel meets historical reference and everything always getting blown up by mad scientist. Highly amusing and an easy read (and actually the most I have probably learnt about history ever!)
I would recommend Terry Pratchett - but they have a tendency to make me laugh out loud and that might not be suitable for hospital visits.0
