fly, I don't think you are being unreasonable, but did you very specifically ask him not to go out or should he have instinctively known? I think there is a difference in terms of how long you hold it against him! (And if you're anything like me, he'd have annoyed you if he'd stayed.)
Are you upset with your OH or are you lumping the emotions all together and taking it out on OH?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
((((Fly)))) So sorry to year that. You might not have been close, but he was still your father and it's still bound to be a sad confusing time for you.
Did your DH offer to stay in with you?0 -
fly baby, I'm sorry to hear your news. I think that when we lose an abusive, or unloving parent, the grief becomes very complex. When my dad died, I wasn't grieving him, but I was grieving a father who was never going to say sorry, to change and be the loving father that I always needed and wanted. That finality is so hard to come to terms with.
Give yourself time to grieve for the dad that he never was, and know that it's normal to have conflicted feelings. Give your inner child some love, she may be feeling abandoned or sad too Take care xMany thanks to all who contribute on MSE0 -

(((fly))) others have put it better than me but am thinking of you. Be kind to yourself. If OH is generally good at this stuff then he probably just didn't have a clue how to react, or how you'd react.0

CBP on suicide: Following on from the link that elsien posted yesterday, sadly Sally Brampton has been successful in taking her own life.
See the Daily Mail. I haven't linked it in as I can't white it out.
Definitely not your fault, WaS, nor anybody else's.
