Calley, I'm not sure if I am way off the mark here but I'm sure that there is a pressure spot on the earlobe for seasickness. I am wondering if these earrings were like some sort of acupuncture thing?

Or perhaps the earring was hollow and filled with sneaky alcohol? I do enjoy questions like this : )
