WaS, if you fancy meeting up at 6.30pm/7pm on Sunday, our local swings etc are usually emptyish by then. Lucee could play with littlewing.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Yay! It's not just me, Lambyr! I am fair skinned too, there is no tan, it is white as a sheet to bright red and blistered after 15 minutes in the sun.

What bugs me most is that I don't really think my skin looks that pale but I guarantee if I go stand outside in the sun for a few minutes, I'll turn as red as a ripe tomato!

I'm not much of a geneticist but my mother's side of the family has Eastern European and Nordic ancestry so I dunno whether that might have something to do with it?

Spring and Summer are my least favourite seasons. Heat doesn't bother me so much, but I have to be careful not to get burnt and the pollen attacks me. And there are insects. So many insects. I quite like spiders and bees but other stingy things, especially wasps and horse and deer flies can eff right off.

Pretty much the same! Bees are fine and I have no problem with spiders.

Daddy long legs are the ones that really bother me, along with moths. I have no phobia of them but they're so uselessly annoying. I watch daddy long legs' pointless fumbling along a wall, seemingly trying to scale it by bumping into it like a drunk trying to enter a kebab house via a window, and then falling down over and over only to try again. What are they actually trying to do?

And moths... a nocturnal, light-addicted creature that inevitably lands right in the middle of my TV when I'm trying to watch Game of Thrones, thus making it look like Tyrion has something a bit worrisome caught up in his beard!

One time there was a really big buzzing fly annoying me while I was trying to watch TV. Didn't have any fly spray and any attempt to deal with it myself was only going to result in me performing an episode of The Three Stooges, sans two stooges so I sat, growing in annoyance... until the spider that had made its home behind the TV suddenly leaped into action and dealt with it. I was very happy with that spider. I actually named him Rambo.

    :rotfl: Lambyr!

If you find it annoying, just think how much worse it must be for the poor daddy-long-legs and the moth!

It's probably like you trying to find your way out of a labyrinth in the dark, while some gigantic monster, somewhere, you don't know where, is bellowing fearsome sounds at you! :rotfl:

(NB. Gigantic monster/bellowing etc. is relative to the size of the insects, not your absolute size/sound! :D)

To be fair I did discover my favourite pair of jeans was a bit on the tight-fit side again the other day. :o

Well, you all know I could scream the house down if I find a spider! :rotfl: Dandy long legs don't bother me at all though, and I can easily pick them up and release them safely.

I'm not that keen on summer either. I like the idea of it, and I love the long days, but the actual heat is just too much for me. I feel uncomfortable the whole time and can never find any decent clothes. Give me a crisp autumn day and some thick black tights any day :D

There's definitely something wrong with my temperature control. I spend about 11 months of the year so cold I can't feel my feet, and the other month sweating like a pig.

I am from a very ginger family - sun does not agree with me. If I think about the sun for more than a minute I get burnt and then peel. Have never tanned in my life (although I'm not sure I'd want to, it's just another sign of damage, but for some reason more socially acceptable than burning!)

So do I! My Granda was ginger and my Nana dark. My Mam's two oldest brothers were so dark they looked foreign, her and her younger brother got the ginger gene! I was blonde like my Dad until I was about 8 and then went auburn.

I must have weird skin, very pale yet doesn't burn that quickly, but I don't tan that easily either.

As an added incentive, WaS, it's bluebell time of year hereabouts. So make sure your drive meanders through some wooded areas.
