And I must be really lucky with my GP as I've been able to get same day appointments if I ring in the morning or at worst next day appointments if I ring in the afternoon. I know a GP with a surgery near the centre of the city and she runs open mornings where you can just turn up without an appointment, take a ticket and wait, like at a start-rite shoe shop (enduring memory from my childhood was taking a ticket to get my feet measured when being taken to get school shoes).Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230

They offered a call back but as I need a repeat prescription and more painkillers so I don't know if that will work.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

I love red/ginger hair! I think it's absolutely beautiful! To see someone with a swathe of copper-coloured hair........ooooh! Lovely! If it's a child, I always go and tell them what beautiful hair they have!
Aww that's lovely Pyx :A My Mam always got asked if she'd got left out in the rain! This one old man said it constantly and she hated bumping in to him because he'd call her rusty and pull her pigtails.0 -

I remember my Nana lifting me up so I could take a ticket from the deli counter!
You nearly always were able to get a same day appointment at our GP's. I remember everyone complaining that they couldn't get one at theirs and me thinking ours was good because you could. Well, it's not that easy anymore.
Hope you manage to get one soon code.0 -
Melly, is it today you're doing support workery stuff? If so, hope it goes well for you.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Though I've just come back from one and it's the pile of email that's built up which is demotivating me, so that may not be the solution!

Thanks for caring TQ. Burning is, and always has been, a very bad idea. Some of my family can burn in ten minutes, they are the ones that use the highest factor sun cream. But even one of them had a distinctly red patch below her neck on Sunday, where the sun had moved round and she wasn't in the full shade of the sunshade any more. Poor girl, like some of you she is someone that has to be constantly vigilant. I know I'm not relying on a lotion to help, if I am in full sun I limit the time, then grab a sunhat. At least I know I'll never suffer from vitamin D deficiency, I grab every second of sun I can!
I don't even tan all that much, but some years my hair goes so blonde people keep asking me if I've bleached it. Then come the autumn there is an abrupt line of dark roots, so then I do have to dye it as I hate roots showing. Pedant alert - you can't dye hair blonde, dying is adding colour, bleaching is taking colour away. Unless you were to go dark blonde, I suppose!
We usually have to wait around a week for an appointment with the doctor, but I did manage to get one in 2 hours by telling them I'd found a lump in my breast. So that's how you speed things up.
I read this thread every day, how I wish I had a magic wand that could sort out housing, make work interesting, find a pill that takes away pain but doesn't clog up the system, gives each and every one of you just one week's holiday away from the things that trouble you.
All I can do is send hugs, which I do.Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0 -
Ha - know what you mean ono. Had a four day weekend last week which was amazing, but I swear I'm still ploughing through the emails now.
What a lovely thought SJ0
