Well! I had a nice little surprise yesterday evening!
The minute I woke up in the morning, A huge wave of depression fell over me, and I felt very, very tearful and totally meh all day. Just couldn't shake it off. Felt absolutely dreadful.
Did some clearing out, but that didn't help. Made it worse, if anything, as the task seemed so enormous.
Then, in the early evening, I had promised someone at AmDram to go and help tidy the props cupboards, which were in a terrible state. I really just wanted to go to bed, but I couldn't let them down, as it was all arranged with the hall for us to have special access. So, as I also had a scary thing to do that I had been putting off, plus I was running out of hair dye and my hairdresser was coming the next day, I decided to force myself to leave early, do the scary thing and pop into Sainsbury's en route to the AmDram.
So, did the scary thing. Phew.
Got to Sainsbury's........they had my colour. Phew. Bought some other bits I was running very low on, then had a coffee in their cafeteria (yuk). (I'd forgotten their coffee is yuk.....weak as dishwater).
Now, a few weeks ago, I had bought a Lottery Cashword scratchcard. You have to scratch off letters and see if you have full words. The number of full words determines the prize level. I did this and found I had won £40! Wheeeee!
Anyway, I decided that I would treat a friend and myself to a meal with it, so I didn't cash it in straight away.
Yesterday, I decided to cash it in as we would be having that meal soon, so after my coffee, I went to the Lottery desk in Sainsbury's before going to the checkout with my shopping, and handed the girl my card.
Imagine my surprise when she told me I'd won, not £40, but £100!
Now, I'd checked, and then double-checked my full words and was convinced I'd won £40. (8 words is £40, 9 words is £100). The girl, however, was quite satisfied I'd won £100 and showed me the printout thing confirming that! So I'd obviously missed a word, goodness knows how!
Anyway, that very nice surprise gave me a bit of fillip, and that, together with having done a scary thing, got some shopping, and kept my promise to the AmDram person, helped dispel some of the blackness.

Torry - Happy Birthday for yesterday, sorry I'm a day late.
Melly - I love the streak, it reminds me of Polgara.
Faerie - I hope all goes well today.
Pyxis - Well done for doing the scary thing and helping out even though you really didn't feel like it. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better today.
Sorry for anyone I've missed - I really do need some sleep before my brain falls apart - and hugs, squishes and whatnot to all who want/need them.0 -
Afternoon all!
Melly, the goth in me is in love with your hair! It is wonderful, don't ever change it. I have some clip-on bright pink hair which I occasionally add to my own for the same streak effect. WaSp cringes but I love it!
Big hugs, Pyxis! Well done for getting so much done when you felt low. So happy you won the money! That is amazing!
Hope today went well for you, Faerie. We are all with you.
I am glad you had a good day, Torry. Occasions can be hard especially if others expect us to feel happy and it is the last thing that we are feeling.
No one here is old! Physical age really means nothing to me. Because of MPD/DID I am very young mentally, I have bursts of acting my age and can even throw a wall up to block the others if I need to be adult for a short while but normally I switch between childlike, teenage and about late 20's? I cannot control the switches for long so I just go with it and don't think about my real age at all. In fact it upsets the little ones with me if I do dwell on it because they get confused about why they are in an older body and become afraid. It has always been this way for me, I will still be acting like I am 6 when I am 70. :rotfl:Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

OMG I did it!!! I stood up to the fat cats of the hospital! Woo Hoo!! !!!! My anxiety didn't get in the way, They seemed grateful for an actual patient's voice., instead of just statistics. I brought up so many points and they proposed many different changes, but I'm going to hold them accountable and they are going to arrange a meeting with the head of the Clinical Commissioners in 6 months time to check whether they have implemented the changes. She told me she admired my tenacity and courage, to fight the hospital, to stand up for those too ill to fight. I really do feel proud of myself. I want the horror of the multitude of systematic errors that cost me my quality of life, and almost cost me my life, many times over.. I want it to count, for them to learn from their mistakes, to save lives and peoples' quality of life. .. It may be too late to sue, but I want to make my experiences invoke change, to make the Gastro dept safe again.... I never say this but for once, I'm proud of myself! smile emoticon It's a victoryMany thanks to all who contribute on MSE0
