    Do you wear face guards?

    You do not.

Feedback from them is not very positive sadly. Its a 'no you will get punched in the face, but you can watch a class if you want'.

That's a bit rubbish of them. I wouldn't have thought it'd be that difficult for them to tell the person working with you not to hit you in the face under any circumstances and, if being hit in the face is really an essential part of that week's lesson, you just sit out the face-hitty part but do the rest.

I think it's more of an insurance nightmare for them. Like if I got smacked in the face by accident and then sued them or something.

Also it was developed for the Israel Defence Forces so its very physical and real world. In a real world fight I couldn't ask someone to avoid my face, so I can't during practice either. It makes sense in a very sucky way.

ETA: it is essentially cage fighting.

    Oooh Code! It sounds horrible!

I'd be ducking out of the way the whole time, and scrabbling in the air furiously with my little mitts! I'm such a wuss! The idea of being hit anywhere, let alone the face.......shudder!

WaS, what do you mean, next? This is taking me for ever! I've had an obstacle course on my landing for four days now, and it's going to take a while to sort!

Plus my hall is filling up with dross for the tip and charity shop stuff, so that's an obstacle course too!

Fun hobby that. I used to do Kung Fu, it helped with the anxiety thing a bit. I only trained with Hubby though, too scared of any one else touching me - which I know defeats the object of learning self defence but I felt better knowing that I could wallop someone back in theory. In reality I'd have been a ball on the floor.

I'll be really glad to see the back of today. Its been hard, but I don't want my current role to come to an end - I'm really sad even though I've got a different project to go to. There's so much further research I can do here though. Never mind, perhaps funding will let me return...

I'm exhausted today, I'm having night terrors again which are never fun. I finish teaching at 8:30 tonight tho so it'll be shower and bed for me as early as possible.
Hugs a squishes and cwtches to you all xx

Hugs to all. Today is the day I wasnt terribly looking forward to but has been good so far. Husband took me out to lunch and got some lovely gifts and cards. Was out yesterday with dad and husband and visited the memories so tired now. Quiet day tomorrow I think

Glad it went ok Torry. I have decided that unless the sun comes out hibernation may be the order of the day for the Easter weekend. So far I have not made a single plan for any social activity which is a bit sad.

And to change the subject slightly:
I would like to know why two years worth of training classes have gone in one Gitdog ear and out the other leaving no discernable lasting impression, whereas one incident 12 months ago when nan lit the fire to shut him up has lodged itself firmly and securely in his little pea brain leading him to ramp up his annoyingness dial to 11/10 whenever he's feeling a tad chilly?

Just watching a programme on BBC2 about employability for people with autism or Tourette's. There's someone who developed Tourette's when in later life, which surprised me, I didn't know that could happen.
