I wonder if Smart will do a CEL and go after any ASDA employees who they have previously ticketed ?
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Sorry, meant to say, how does it leave motorists who are currently being pursued by SMART for parking at ASDA previously?
Wouldn't surprise me at all if Smart do a CEL and sue people now.

I have heard that Horizon might be stepping into SMART's shoes.

I've noticed on my travels that they seem to have a few of the newer stores, especially down in London area.

I wonder why Asda would not renew ?

No tears for smart parking then.

Word will quickly spread throughout the grocery industry and that will be a warning to retailers to never use smart parking.

If Asda decide to use Parking Eye, they must expect their profits to fall even lower and complaints to rise. That would be a stupid decision by Asda.

In the meantime, people should be advised to avoid any Asda who uses smart parking as they will no doubt go on a blitz in these car parks.

    Question is WHY ??

Let's hope that planning permission is applied for before their signs and camera are installed.
  • In my scenario, Smart Parking have been arrogant as to not accept their recording system may be faulty. I say this because they have accused me of remaining in my local Asda car park from 7:30 am til 6:30pm. This was not so. I popped to Asda before work and again after work, as I do regularly. They will not have it that their equipment could be faulty. Asda themselves have been no help at all. I'm confident I will win this battle as I have evidence that I used the 'offending vehicle' to get me to work on the day in question and therefore could not have left it in the car park for the period stated. What a palaver, tho!

This is now a common story with ANPR and I wonder how they can prove their system is correct.

Actually it's a Subject Access Request, (not FOI). Failure to comply with a Subject Access Request within 40 days is a breach of the 1998 Data Protection Act.
