I don't suppose ASDA will learn their lesson, though. What are the odds on them bringing in PE "to improve standards"?0

I see it says their lackies will transfer over to the new operator. Shame. I don't normally like to see job losses , but they would have been good in this case.0

Raises a degree of doubt that a PE involvement might be likely. Boots on the ground not their general MO.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

They will have to transfer them under TUPE laws:
The TUPE regulations apply in the following situations:- a contractor takes over activities from a client (known as outsourcing).
- a new contractor takes over activities from another contractor (known as re-tendering).
- a client takes over activities from a contractor (known as in sourcing).

The announcement states Smart retains ownership of the 250+ ANPR cameras & associated equipment and they will be installed at new sites so it sounds like a mixture of enforcement.
The Asda store nearest to us is ANPR (3 hours) - Gawd knows why, the town is so small and dead now there is only Asda, one bank, one library and a few independent shops. You couldn't go over 3 hours if you tried! Totally pointless. Boots on the ground would be better at this location just to keep a check on the disabled parking and they wouldn't need a PPC for that.
PE would be on to a loser at this site:)0 -

If ASDA are looking for better "value for money", then having PE pay them handsomely for the priviledge of farming their car parks seems all the more likely. And with Beavis under their belt, operating in the same manner as that car park will strengthen their case in any court procedures. It then only falls to PE being dragged publicly through the dirt if such a scenario transpires.0 -
In the couple of ASDA supermarkets I visit, SMART "operatives" seem also to be doing other work directly for the supermarket, including collecting trolleys. So they will probably still be around. Whether they will be working for the new PPC or for the supermarket will be interesting to see.
I have heard that Horizon might be stepping into SMART's shoes. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Sorry, meant to say, how does it leave motorists who are currently being pursued by SMART for parking at ASDA previously?Illegitimi non carborundum:)0
