Morning all
Reading yesterday's and this mornings papers can't work the budget out, threaten to cut services and tighten things up and have us all living in austerity (not forgetting steal from the pensions were are hoping we'll live long enough to use) but then blow cash digging a tunnel under the Pennines and commit to HS3 while still throwing money in the direction of HS2.
Happy valley great last night, I even had to stop knitting to watch! Series was over too quickly.
Busy this morning as I'm in for a review.
I must iron this afternoon.
Have a good day all, hugs where needed I'll catch up later.SPC~12 ot 124

Morning
Hugs, sticks, spoons, get well soons and vibes to all
Today I am clearing my ironing pile! I have plenty of programmes to catch up on so I'm going to watch them at the same time. I've already put the dogs toys on to wash. They're just starting to smell and I need to purge some of the more damaged ones so I'm taking the opportunity while the weather is dry. Next is his bed and then blankets. I will get rid of the doggy smell and keep on top of the fur he's shed. As a result he's laying on the sofa with his head on his big cuddly cat sulking :rotfl: He's still got a bit of an icky tummy (but it has improved greatly since Monday) so still no walks today. I think that apart from his dentastick tonight he's not getting anything to eat now except his actual food. It could be too many treats that's causing it which would be my fault for giving him his treat ball (also in the wash) with treats in to keep him entertained while I've been busy.
The house is mainly tidy, DD did the washing up last night so there's only breakfast dishes and some recycling which is soaking to be washed. I damp mopped through to lift the worst of the hair balls. However looking at the floor you wouldn't think I'd done it. We also put the rug, sofa cover and sofa throws back so the livingroom is looking much better than it did this time yesterday.

Another Happy Valley fan here.
I'm super-!!!!!! off about at least one tax hike that I have a horrible feeling is going to come which I simply don't understand. As to what's been trailed about education, you all have my strongest sympathies and virtual support. I was jibbering when I heard it on the news last night, but I have to say I can remember thinking quite some timea ago it would happen. I'm not at all happy about being right. The logic of why we need a £50bn HS2 but can't afford a $50bn power plant has been worrying me, but there you go, what do I know?
More (((hugs))) Dizzy.
Off half way across the country for tomorrow's funeral. I even got up early today to do some flying that needed to be done. I must be sickening for something (actually, I am, apparently).Better is good enough.0 -
Morning all.
Basically I lost a day yesterday - managed to get to SW (and had only put on 1 lb over the past week despite attacking the cheese mountain and cake at the wedding! so quite pleased with myself) but then slept for most of the rest of the day. I still felt grotty in the evening but made it to the final night of that particular course, and slept again for 6 hours solid without interruptions from badgers or anyone else. I must have been running on adrenalin all weekend and probably for a week or two beforehand.
Hopefully back to normal today. The good news is that the car repair was done in one day, not two, so I can get out this afternoon and combine pleasure (family history group) with shopping.
Otherwise it's the usual bit of flying to keep the place looking clean and tidy until we have a whole day to blitz from top to bottom, plus emails, transcribing, course work and anything else I can do to clear the piles of papers that keep mounting up in the study bedroom.
Catch up later. Hope everyone has a good day, whatever the Chancellor says x0 -
You know I said I was doing the ironing first thing....well I gave Zack a good groom instead with a furminator. He's all glossy now and when he shakes himself there's no longer something resembling a sandstorm but out of fur :rotfl: Glad I did it when I did as he's currently chasing a ball around the livingroom and jumping over the sofas and batting it under the other one! He looks so much happier and full of life compared to this morning. While I was at it I trimmed his paw fur again so he's no longer sliding around as much and used an emery board to take the sharp edge off his claws as he left a lovely scratch down my arm this morning when he jumped up to say good morning.
I then very damp mopped the livingroom and kitchen quickly to get up the worst of the fur, put his bed in to wash and had an early lunch. Now I can get the ironing out without it getting covered in dog hair....in theory. :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Hi everyone
Apologies for my absence lately. Things have been a bit pear-shaped here. Poor DS has been in a bad way, although some intervention from the pastoral care lady at school seems to be helping. He's been saying some very scary things - poor wee man has so many worries on his wee shoulders.
I still haven't been served notice at paid stuff. Things are just impossible there and my doc has signed me off the last couple of weeks. I'm supposed to be speaking to boss man today, and doc tomorrow, to decide a way forward. There are rumours that notice letters will be out next week - but we thought that a month ago. I have a feeling they want me to resign, to save the nearly 20yrs redundancy paybut I can't afford to just leave. I need to know if being off sick would allow me to renegotiate my notice period. And so on.
I'm sure most of DS anxiety is because of mine - so I feel even crappier that I'm projecting onto him. So im really trying hard to keep things calm.
So that's why I've not been around much. Bl00dy life, eh?
I've had a quick read back so hugs to dizzy and belated birthday wishes, get well soons where needed. I miss you guys but my head is just so full of fuzz at the moment... XBossymoo
