you have the result you need if your sister is happy with the resolution
it might be a while before c/a get back in touch and they will basically advise what selling dealer has offered,if you get too forceful then as i mentioned selling dealer could argue battery fitter miss fitted battery thus causing body control module issues and it would go to resolution if both parties agreed and if that fails court and even with a report from independant garage that fitted battery it would be argued they mis fitted the battery
im talking from my perspective here as if it were i as selling dealer

to custardy by selling cars under a private account it is an offense because the traders name and address need to be shown in case it is needed to say deliver an lba, trading standards at one time would pursue this as its unfair trading practice, ebay should make all trade sellers show their full details just like i have to so then we would have a level playing field, hopefully once we leave the european union we can stop this company based in Luxembourg from trampling on our laws and ignoring requests to insist trade sellers show full details

Sorry sb, but I am having some difficulty in understanding your post. What is "c/a?" What is "custardy"?"

The EU has nothing at all to do with this, the dealer isn't based in Luxembourg. And by the by, if it wasn't for the EU, the OP's sister probably wouldn't have the protection she has today.

Whilst they should have a business account,it doesnt stop the seller being a trader and selling as a business.
Same as folks can have an ebay business account without having a business.

Custardy is the poster who posted the above.
Sb was pointing out that traders are supposed to,display their full details.

Why do you think that it is Ebay's job to enforce the law?

It is the seller's responsibility to adhere to the laws, and if he chooses not to, then I don't understand why you think Ebay have any more responsibility that to remind the seller of their obligations.
All sellers on Ebay have agreed to Ebay's rules on how to list items.

Business sellers have agreed to obey the law and Ebay have given information to help them do that. See here.
  • What on Earth has that got to do with the OP's sister's consumer rights?

what on earth has this reply to do with the op's consumer rights? rather trollish.

Aah, perhaps more attention to grammar and spelling would have helped. ;)

But I don't think the dealer was based in Luxembourg though, or have I missed something?

Was that really supposed to be a grown-up response?

    So,

At the moment, they are in touch and everything is Civil which I good

My sister asked for a refund rather than to trade, as they are wanting to trade the Citroen and ask my sister for a further £600 on a car of a similar size, though I don't know full details on that car either I knows its done 125k miles.

The seller has said that she "Cant afford to refund" and that her trade in car, she would have taken back has already gone.

I'm yet to see my sister in person to get a copy of report to post here yet, but general advice amongst people is to try and get refund and stay away for that seller. Her own mechanic said he will look at it, but if it has 3 code red faults, depending its probably only worth scrapping

I have my doubts about things, the invoice has a trade name on it, but no google search shows any info on it, website, company website or anything. But they are selling lots of cars. My sister picked the car up from a home address as she can only make it evenings and they said they'd drive to car home for my sister to pick up, it was only then they realised the battery was in need of replacing apparently.

Ill update more when I can anyway

This is very very bad advice.

Fault codes can occur for a number of reasons from a loose connection/sensor to something major and eveything inbetween

You posted this question 2 days ago and have still yet to inform anyone on here what the actual codes or faults are. How is anyone meant to help?
Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.

Indeed it was, how about your quote was that a mature response or were you just looking to pick fault and make a mess of the op's thread?

    Yes I know,

To be honest I thought it woukd be a case of

1.you have no case because of..
    2. You have a case because of...

I'm. Yet to see the faults myself which is why i cant update on that front yet. I've said I'll post the report when I can

It was a general view on legal position i was hoping for but it seems there are several grey areas, regardless. What the fsults are the car can't be driven and either my my sister has a legal right or she doesn't

And can only apologise for lack of info at this point
