    Morning all,

Had a fantastic day at thr birdman rally in bognor yesterday, the idea is to jump off of the end of the pier, the serious contesters do it to see how far they can fly, and the rest just do it for fun, we did it dressed as penguins, two girls from my office did the jump, which was a hell of a long way down 36 ft, but they did really well, I would recommend it as a great day out for anyone. ( and we raised two thousand pounds sponsorship for an environmental charity :j )

  • no, prawns are very low in calories - on WW they are 8 king prawns = .5 point. Means that if you get king prawns, veg + cashew nut in oyster sauce from the takeaway, its 3 points!

    Hi everyone!
Hugs to those who need them! All well here in my little world and have just had a fabby OS weekend!
My local hospice shop was doing a half price day at the weekend and I managed to get a stacking steamer pan thingy and a huge earthenware mixing bowl for £7.50:j I'm always saying to OH that I could do with a bigger bowl now that I double bake to save time and electricity. It was sooo much better when I made my two weetabix cakes which I've frozen.
How sad am I...I am so chuffed with my new larder that I have a designated Old Style shelf in it which holds all my thrifty books, my OS notebook for all my recipes and my folder [which I am in the process of reorganising because all I've done in the last year is hurl scrap bits of paper in with various scribblings] The intention is to fill the rest of the space on the shelf with jars full of homemade goodies. I've made a start with 4 jars of hm apple and peach pickle and I mean to follow this shortly with blackberry jam. I've picked the latter but have frozen them so I can make it when I've got a spare evening. Am also drooling over my 50p book of jams and pickles and will have a go at some of those too in due course.
Other major achievement at the weekend was that I got the bathroom walls painted. Looks quite smart now. Just need to do the woodwork and respray the silver towel rails as they've lost their coating and then that's all done. OH has discovered that he can the "delicious" plaster effect we inherited off the previous owners off the kitchen walls with the wallpaper stripper so we won't need to get in a plasterer as we'd feared. Result:j
I've been a good girl and done all my ironing and mending jobs so shall probably squeeze my ample rump into a chair this evening and watch The Queen and catch dumped at 9. Veggie spag bol for tea I believe!

  • I am still sat waiting for the box to be delivered..its frustrating, I kow its coming form the north of Scotland, but the chap paid for 24 hour delivery!!!!

All I can do is sit and wait..........but its driving me crazy.............

Just had my lunch, 2 crisp bread with cheeseand tomato and an apple chopped into yogurt...........supper bacon and mushroom omlettee with salad and creme caramel for afters, I dare say OH will have cream on his........

The sun has gone in and its rather dull, we did have some rain late yesterday, so hopefully will not have to water the allotment.........the beans will be growing good style, I think we had better be prepared for a glut.

OH has just gone out for a walk. We cannot find his wallet anywhere, fortunately there is nothing in it except his free travel pass, so its going to cost me a busfare, picture and £1 to get him a new one....ooooohhh well....
September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

    Tesco £57.13
    Petrol £10.00

  • Hi all,

mrs mix you know the old saying - you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family. If my (x)mil made my children cry though I wouldn't miss her and hit the wall, as they say in Scotland. Will you ask DH to have a word with her or is there no point? (((hugs))) to you and your DSs.
shez good luck at the job centre
redruby that's an amazing amount of money raised for jumping 36ft! :T
FBThree I have to pay £17.50 each year to park outside my house. We have to pay for a resident's permit or have all the university students using the bays for free parking.
aussie aren't you the cheeky minx today? :D

I have been a *very* good girl today. Took DS and DD shopping and they asked if we could have a McDonald's for lunch. I convinced them that they could have a much better lunch at home. DD had a baked potato with some cheese and DS and I had turkey salad on wholemeal bread. :j I have drunk over 1.5 litres of water so far and NO snacks at all.

Diabetic check went ok and nurse was actually very nice. I have to have a full blood screening though  but as it's a fasting one, I want to plan it for when DS and DD are with XDH then I can be grumpy in the morning without feeling guilty. :o

DS has changed his mind - he wants to make spag bol instead of chilli today. Off to help him now. xx
