Morning all
Last day of the hols.
I can't believe that I'll have 2 1/2 hours tomorrow where DD is at playgroup and DS is at school. Wow. What will I do with myself. I'm sure I'll find something.
Bad mum alert!
Just plonked kids in front of tv cos they're driving me scatty. They;ve only been up for 30 mins!. I bought pain au chocolat for breakfast (a treat for the last day of the holidays) and they don't want them:mad: . Ungrateful brats, I'll just have to eat them myself:o :rotfl: .
Today I must, sort out dinner money for DS, take up school trousers (and somehow take them in too. Age 4 is too big, age 3 is far too small, and he's 5! I know DS is never going to be the biggest in his class, but they make kids clothes for the children of giants! Why)
Well, off to strip the beds and switch the TV off.
Have a good one folks (sun is shining here.)"You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -

Lovely and sunny here in Essex - wont have much time to sit and enjoy it though - have loads to do. DS is easy just need to see if we can find his school fleece and thats that. DD has lots to do and gathering by the mood she got up in that will be fun - not.
Tesco shop being delivered mainly of packed lunch stuff and have meal planned this week. Looking forward to tomorrow but feel sad as well. Today have some paperwork I want to get done so tomorrow morning can go to a local farmers market. Unfortunatly dd hasnt got to go into school till 11.15 so she may be with me, am trying to get her to go in early with her friends but havnt persuaded her yet.
Best get on, have a great day.0 -

Good morning
I'm another one joining the ranks of the sleepless today. Two nights in a row. If I don't sleep tonight I will be like a bear with a sore head tomorrow and that's not good for DD's first day at high school.
Need to pick DS's blazer up from dry cleaners today and I have a diabetic check-up today. I will be told off for putting on all the weight I had lost. Oh well, at least I'm trying to lose it all again. Don't know if I will sit meekly and let her tell me off either. Not quite in that mood today.
learning to save hope poor DD feels much better soon.
Peem DD asked for pain au chocolat for breakfast when we were at the supermarket yesterday. Bought them as a last day treat (just like you). What have they had? DS had shreddies and DD had a couple of stale brioche.
Off to do some exercise before I have breakfast. Sunny day here so WM is on and hopefully I will get it all hung out to dry. Just last minute sorting out for school tomorrow and then we can have a restful afternoon.
Have a marvellous Monday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Mornin All:hello:
Today I have the delightful job of going to the job centre this morning
This afternoon the kids start their swimming lessons - DD is first at 4pm then DS at 4.30, bags are ready. Mine are back to school/nursery tomorrow, DS uniform is ready. Straight after dropping them off I shall go to the gym!!!
Trying to use up stuff in the cupboards/freezer this week - BUT I wont be doing any baking, otherwise my good intentions will go to waste!!:rotfl:
Have a good monday all!!0 -
Morning All,
I'm another one that had lousy sleep! Bailey cat couldn't get out of our catflap at 3 - he's lost ANOTHER collar with magnet so I needed to let him out (and yes, we still have the flap the "wrong" way round so Finlay-kitten can't get out). Arrgh. Then at 4:30 it sounded like another cat getting out but when I went downstairs I couldn't see any cats so I've got this awful feeling we've got a neighbourhood cat with a magnet, so will still have invader cat problems!
Miolere so glad your Mum did the cats rescue work. Finlay came from a farm overrun with ferals and the stories of how hard their lives can be are horrid. My neighbour, who knows the owner, won't get the RSPCA/cats league involved in case the farmer stops her picking the grass for her guinea pigs, so young female cats are just getting worn down by kitten-ing.
odds'n'sods Didn't know about paracetemol having caffeine in it! Must check the one OH has - he has enough insomnia as it is.
Dragged OH out for a walk yesterday. Got 10 mins in and he had to give up due to knee problems so I trundelled on for an hour by myself. Came home to find OH in bed so I did nice jigsaw someone dumped by cardboard recycling (only 2 pieces missing). OH got up and watched tv. I flyladied bathroom, hoovered, made dinner..... OH watched tv. You get the picture! Actually he did help a bit when I asked him too.
Painting today I guess.
Edti - Oh yeah - woke up to letter from local council. Our small town has hardly any parking for many houses - and they're bringing in charging for parking in the local car park.....aaargh. I wouldn't mind so much if I got something from my council tax except for rubbish collection and the very occasional police on the streets. aaargh... day off to a good start !!!!0 -
Morning everyone
Well hubby got home at 4.30 this morning...at which time i was still awake:eek: .. i couldnt get to sleep until i knew he was back safe - he is 42 for crying out loud and has done gulf 1 + 2, bosnia, kosovo, ireland etc.. i dont know whether i think he is going to get ambushed on the doorstep or something:rotfl: ....i leave the outside light on, the landing light - just so he doesnt come back to a dark house ....its not as bad as it sounds OSers...they are energy saving lightbulbs... and the army give you 5 spare ones when you move in too:T .... Anyway he is back - still in bed, snoring mind you its only 10.15.....and he drove to the ferry in the UK grabbed half an hour and when they got to this side he drove through holland and didnt swap driver until an hour away from here..... he hates the way the "young uns" drive..... reckons i have turned him into an old fart :rotfl:
So i have peace n quiet to catch up on what happening on here..as when hubby gets up he is taking me shopping.... bet he has forgot that
I spent my early hours lay in bed, trying to shrink down my shopping list.. there isnt much on there anyway... but i am on a mission..
Took chicken portion out of freezer...creamy chicken and vegetable pasta for tea tonight mmmmm
Well i hope everyone has a good day.... hugs to all that need one...

I am weeing for England at the moment, all that water, I think I have a swimming pool inside me..................still if it has the desired effect I will be pleased...........
Just had a rush to the door, but it was the post lady.....aaaaaaawwwww shucks..........September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

Morning all,
Haven't been on for a while as ds2 had hijacked the laptop for the last week of the hols - plus ds1 started grammar school last week - lots of induction days. I made him take the bus for practice on Friday, whilst ds2 and I hid round the corner so as not to embarrass him. I thought he was going to be sick with nerves. However it paid off as he called for the girl next door today as it's her first day on the bus, and he was able to be all "been there, done that"!!!
Anyway, because of all that, poor ds2 has hardly had any attention about going back to school today - I had to buy new PE pumps yesterday afternoon = talk about last minute. He was upset this morning about going to school without ds1 as well.
Had a good shop at LIDL for cold deli meats for packed lunches - has anyone else noticed that Tesco etc are very short of salamis, pate etc because of foot and mouth. Have also decided that the kids need a bit more protein at breakfast instead of all the carbs - healthy ones, so......
Breakfast: Swedish rye bread with salami/ hard boiled egg
Lunch: Packed lunches - wholemeal roll with pate, yoghurt, melon chunks, orange crispie biscuits (ds1 finally has time to eat a bigger lunch), squash
Me - haven't a clue - might treat myself as it's the first day back
Dinner: Sea bass fillets (reduced), new potatoes, veggies, choc crunch cake
Nice day here - although there is a nip in the air - will try hanging out the washing. Ds1 has home ec today for the first time - the teacher should have been told about the lactose intolerance, so fingers crossed. Apparently they're used to working around all sorts of allergies, so we were told it wouldn't be a problem.
Have a good day everyone - hugs to all who need them - especially those with first day at schools.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”
