Follow-up thought being that in your nan's position - as well as trying to get rehoused somewhere else, I would be keeping a diary of what visitors I was having/purpose/times of visit/etc.

This being to be in a position to be able to prove that no-one has "stayed more than 14 nights".

My diary would read for instance:

    - 1400-1600, 23 January - Friend Gladys visited
    - 1100-1300, 24 January - Friends Dot and Vera visited

    and so on.

For who's purpose? Management will just say it's doctored, they have cctv now so it doesn't matter

One evening you were waiting for a parcel?

Yes. A wardrobe for my nan.
  • For nan's sake - as these CCTV records aren't in her keeping and she will have her own record that she has been keeping to their rules and, if accused, of flouting them - can get them typed up and present a copy to these trustees.

I suspect that the trouble seems to have started because grandchild is from a generation that just takes reasonable standards for granted and people treating their homes as their homes. Nan has probably got a bit "braver" being shown/told what normal 21st century standards are and is starting to stand up for herself a bit more.

I think you are right. I will get that done. Thanks of your help.

Hardly a parcel.. But more to the point why order a non essential item when she knew she'd not be at the property?

  • All the better if Nan can persuade her friends in the other almshouses to keep their own records of visitors too - to help protect them from these dinosaur wardens.

Nan could then say "How come you are on at me for 100 visitors in a year - all of whom were just visitors and never stayed overnight - whereas Bertha next door had 150 visitors and how come they never picked on her then? Why am I being singled-out?"

Is nan in a mental health unit? If so they are not going to discharge her to somewhere that is (apparently) causing her such problems. Have you spoken with her care coordinator to ask what options she has for housing?

Personally - I'd say a wardrobe is pretty essential. I'd love to know a way to get couriers to turn up at a day and time that suits the customer - as I've certainly not worked one yet...:rotfl:

If you must know, I ordered the wardrobe for delivery way before she went on holiday. They delivered it but it was damaged. It took them 4 delivery attempted before I got the final delivery and the last delivery was the 2nd day she was on holiday.
