You cannot go to a solicitor and get advice and expect the government to pay your bill when trying to get benefits, If that was the case everyone would be doing it.

If you need help with benefit application forms, The first place you would go to is citizens advice as they understand the law regarding benefits and can help filling them in. If you need letters of support etc or evidence regarding your disability you go to the GP and any specialists they refer, I don't understand what going private will do any better.

You are jumping the gun right to the last bit and the worst bit, If you have a condition that merits being on PIP you will be successful, You seem to be thinking of mandatory reconsiderations, appeals and lawyers etc before you have even filled in a PIP application.

it isn't strictly true that anyone will get a PIP award go they merit it.
a regular user to this forum has just lost her total award on being transferred to PIP.
even with supporting evidence that she is a paraplegic and has frequent and unwarned blackouts.

Also Legal aid only covers the following.
Welfare benefits and council tax reduction:

only for appeals to the Upper Tribunal, High Court, Court of Appeal or Supreme Court

You can only go to upper tribunal if the court gives you permission to take it to the upper, And that can only happen if the judge at the time of appeal makes an error in law when making a decision on your case.

So you can't just think you can get a lawyer to pay for advice, Doesn't work like that.

This thread is going nowhere and it's pointless. It's a sunday you have an active DLA claim with no invitation to claim PIP yet....

And you seem to be in your mind at the appeal stage of your fantasy PIP claim. Hmm

You seem to like making assumptions that can be blasted out the water using the evidence from the Scottish Legal Aid Board!

I will be sure to let you know if I get PIP with the award and the bill for the Scottish Legal Aid.

    Best wishes :)

PIP is not means tested so if someones dies and leave you money is neither here nor there.

But good luck on your "appeal", Let me know what happens, I am actually dying to know... I take it your appeal is next week because you have Scottish legal aid?

Bryando, your posts are a little all over the place at the moment, from a worsening condition to how much you can get if you go to work to Legal Aid for non existent appeals. Is there someone in real life you can talk to about this, get some perspective on your situation?
