What can I say, except that I feel your pain. If that wasn't enough, I feel you draughts as well
Just tonight, before I went for a walk with my dog, I put the back of my hand near to where the handle is and I could clearly feel a cold draught coming in.

Had a Rockdoor fitted in April 2017 and we are having problems the door is very clearly bowed when you line up the door with the frame.when you just open the door the centre is out by about 4- 6 mm where it meets the lock (in the middle)
After reading this thread it seems like we should be requesting a new door?
We have the top model ultimate and we went for the reinforcement casing.
There are slight drafts at the locks.0 -
Se it looks like a trend to me...0

Oh dear!!!!! I have had a RD ult front door fitted with droughts coming under door and at lock side. Called back the RDnominated fitter...a big company est for many years... I demonstratedtheobv gap at bottom of door by sliding a RD brochure page under from outside. I then noticed the bow at lock side centre.. Fitter initially tried to suggest"within tolerance" butI was having none of the tolerance nonsense and guess what, after leaving him to ponder some more on door" he advised I was right and the door slab was bowed and they (RD) would replace slab. New measurements taken to ensure initial ones were correct. New slab arrived last week for fitting but fitter advised it was too small... 5 mm smaller than first, which they said was itself slightly short. Awaiting 3rd door.0

Oh my...
In the meantime I have managed to be contacted by GAP. Let's see how long it takes them before anything happens...
One word of advice, in case someone asks to remove a hinge on the slab (there is the part number behind it), well... DON'T!!
The hinge came apart and now it won't go back in. Thankfully it is kind of in now, so at least the door shuts, but really... What kind of stupid thing to ask you and what stupid place where to have a part number.
And no, nobody has tried to rectify the problem.0 -

What's Rockdoors tolerances on a bowed slab?
I've installed 1 to the letter. And it's since bowed by 3mm.
Leaving a draught at the centre hinge and latch striker plate.
I've since managed to force the slab at the hinge side closer to the q-lon to cure that draught(hinge side).
But not the lock side.
Rockdoor have sent me an extreme draught kid.
But not once have they mentioned the clearly visible bow (when a 6ft level is placed against the slab)
The door was extortionatly expensive for me to buy before I added a Mark up.
My customer is now getting peed off after it taking me 6 weeks of constant emails to get a draught kit.
But no acknowledgement of said defect (bowed slab)
I use another well know brand of solid composite doors & theyre 1st class in fixing issues that arise and they do arise often.if you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0 -

how strange they have asked you to remove the hinge to find out door number when you have spoken with rockdoor and gap now for over 12 months .the hinge should not fall apart from just un screwing the screws this suggests that the allen key bolts on the hinge wernt cranked up by installer .Has your original installer sealed around the cill yetif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0 -
Well, the hinge came apart and now I cannot get it to go back properly in the the slab.
No, nobody has been since (despite my numerous phone calls). However when I noticed that the door was bowing I diverted my attention to GAP.
Note that the present door was installed by the GAP guy, NOT the original installer. In addition, I believe the hinges were already there, there hadn't been mounted on site (but I might be wrong).
It has been only a few days. Let's hope something will happen this side of Christmas.0 -
