    Not quite...
After a lot of palavering, we got our new door installed just last week (!!) and it is fine, in so far as now we can open it and close it without any hassle.
However there is still a drought coming from the where the handle is. Installer No. 2 (GAP's) says it is because the threshold (the brass bar under the door) has not been sealed, so the cold air comes from there and leaks up the way and Installer No. 1 has to come and fix that. I am still waiting to hear from him...

One thing though, this time we remembered to get a thumb turn lock. Oh boy, what difference that makes... Not having to lock the door with the key and remember to take it out if someone is still to come in is HUGE ;)

So, you are happy now? Were they awkward to deal with? I have never needed any help but I hate the idea of rubbish aftersales help!

I am happiER for sure. Now the door doe lock easily, but it is still leaking cold air. I am still waiting on original installer to fix the threshold thing.

Customer service... well, considering that it has taken OVER a year to get to this stage, countless phone calls and me being taken for a delusional sap, the jury is still out on that.

Interestingly, original installer installer a rock door for himself and he had it replaced AS WELL as his was bowed too. That is a bit much of a coincidence...

I've had four fitted and never had a problem but we used the same fitter for them all and he really did know what he was doing; much of fitting Rockdoors is how good the fitter is in the first place.

Sad to read about Rockdoors customer service, I really would have expected better! fingers crossed it will be sorted for you soon.

What area are you in Chanes. Toying with the idea of a Rockdoor but the window fitters I know don't usually fit them.

We had 2x fitted (in fact, by thebaldwindowfitter) and we could not be happier with ours. Replaced old cheap original fit doors to the house which leaked air/water like it was going out of fashion. Felt the difference immediately!

Same as you, we replaced a woodgrain uPVC door with a Rockdoor and it really was an immediate difference. We have had them fitted ever since and replaced all the doors on our current house with them - made a big difference again from the doors they replaced. The skill of the fitter is the key to the success of them, I feel sure of that.

What is a thumb turn lock? I'm getting a new door soon and need to understand the features.
  • Hello Andrea,
I was about to buy a RockDoor Ulimate front door when I saw your thread.
How did the matter conclude - did RockDoor accept the fault - who was the chap who visited and confirmed the warping ?
