hello everyone!
i bought myself a posh vanity table (Ikea Hemnes one :j )as a treat thats enforced a clear out of sorts. my eventual aim is to have all the make up i own contained in it rather than that, another two full drawers and a small cupboard like now! i was debating getting drawers to go along with it like I've seen on pinterest and thought no, more space will just encourage buying more!
i do have an IN, Charlotte Tilbury rock chick eye palette. I've wanted it for ages and i had a selfridges gift card. I did the make up lesson where its £35 for them to do a complete look but you get the £35 back in product and the palette was £38. learnt some new tricks though so well worth it!
UU:
Bobbi Brown MUR - WNBA
Neals Yard body lotion - was a mag freebie but WNBA, it took ages sinking in!
Dior extase mascara - WNBA, nothing special and i got slight panda eyes.
Bare minerals mineral veil - WBA if in a set but i get through this so quickly for some strange reason its just not economical to buy on its own.
Lyons leaf wonder balm - WBA, this smelt heavenly and was a good multipurpose balm
Urban Veda exfoliator - WNBA far too scratch for my face so repurposed as body scrub
TA in the dressing table sort out:
Liz Earle superskin oil - this has some dody stuff hanging around the bottom of the jar so i got rid!
Mac paint pot - finally gave up on this - it dried out quite quickly so WNBA.
Neal & Wolf glow spray - this started to smell a bit off so chucked it.0 -
I am after a recommendation for a Matt clear nail polish. I have bought OPI matte top coat and I find it cracks less than 24 hours after applying wether I apply one or 2 coats. I need a clear matte nail polish that can stand up to being in washing up water and does not flake off. Any ideas?
I bought an M&S one in the Xmas sale for £1. I can't find it on their website, so they might not do it anymore, but worth a look in stores.0 -
Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend, so nice to have some sunshine today:j:j Made the most of it and been down on the allotment all day. Looks like the rest of the weekend will be in the house doing house jobs:cool:
A few UU:
Fabulous Frootz cocoa butter body Lotion
Boots Botanics Hydrating Day Cream
Fabulous Frootz cocoa butter body washDebt free and busy treating myself:)
No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales0 -
2 UU this evening:
Avon foot works cherry ice moisturising lotion- Wnba the scent was okay - like sour cherries (reminded me of the fizzy cherry sweets). However the lotion was too watery for my liking, really runny and dripped everywhere. Took forever to dry it felt more like it was just making my feet wet than moisturising them. I've got more in stash but there's others I prefer.
Oral b pro expert toothpaste 15ml- WBA as full size as really enjoyed using this sample size tube. Although sensodyne is best for me in terms of stopping tooth sensitivity/pain, I did enjoy using this and liked the taste and how fresh my breath felt etc. it's got little crystally things in which is odd when you first use it but I didn't mind them. it's quite expensive but will look out for an offer. I will probably get this for use on the work sleep ins and use sensodyne at home as I like it so much I want the full sized tube.No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018

I actually managed to use up another thing which is great as it has been a slow month.
UU
Ted Baker Bodywear Moisturising Body Lotion 300ml - A friend was halfway finished with this and gave me the rest to use up. It had a lovely scent which was perfumed but not OTT. Unfortunately the pump broke which made it difficult to get the very last bits of lotion out - so I stood it upside down overnight and finished the rest this morning. I'm not sure if this is still made as I know Ted Baker discontinue a lot of scents but if available I would probably buy again if at a reasonable price.
Also I have a recommendation. I bought the New Look Pure Colour Nail Polish in Gold the other day for about £3 - it's surprisingly iridescent - have just applied it for work tomorrow but it's really an evening polish. I'm very impressed with this polish as the colour isn't thin and one coat would still look good - great finish and applicator brush and it dries pretty quickly as well. Has anyone else tried any of the New Look cosmetics range? No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2019 Total UU since 2016 - 396 | Total February UU - 10 -
I looked in the mirror tonight and thought- Ohhh my skin is looking better, I wonder why? Drinking more water? exercising? reducing stress? More fruit and veg? No.. It can't be. I've never done any of those things....
It's down to actually applying my expesive wonder creams onto my skin. Not keeping them in a drawer and wondering why I still have acne and dry spots but actually rubbing them on my face! Genius!
On a side note - I also remembered my favourite night cream of all time. (Bare with me) Sudocrem. Yes, baby bum cream. It's actually written on the label that its good for acne and eczema. I used to swear by it. Then shoved it in 'the drawer' and forgot all about it. A rediscovery for me and a top moneysaving tip for anyone with mostly dry skin but also hormonal chin acne! It's super moisturising but also antispetic. (for the spots)It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

I've finally decided on my 7 By Summer items, and I'm feeling a bit more optimistic about my odds of using up these products in the time frameSeven By Summer
Revlon Lip Butter- Sugar Frosting
Marvellous Moxie lipgloss- Go Getter
Lord & Berry black kajal liner
Maybelline eyebrow pencil
YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer sample size
YSL Touche Eclat Foundation sample size
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
I'd be really happy if I could completely use up these items in the next 3 months. A couple of the items are roll-overs from my rubbish attempt at the spring challenge, but feel I can get them done this time around!
I threw away one of my PP items for this month. I was using the steam cream as my cleanser, but I hated it! It's smells strongly of spearmint, which I cannot stand, and no matter how well I rinsed the product off; it always felt like there was a film left on my face. I've started breaking out now too, so I've chucked it. There wasn't a lot left, but life is too short! I got it in a beauty box yonks ago, so I'm not too bothered!0 -

So I've pulled it out of the drawer along with far too much other stuff and I'm on a mission!
One thing I have an issue with already though...Body lotion.
I get loads of it for gifts as part of sets and I never use it. It just doesn't soak in. I could put on at 7am then when I shower at 9pm it's still there, sitting all streaky on top of my skin. All of them seem to do this and my skin is pretty dry.
I've already given any un-started lotions to the chazzer. I'm looking for ways to use up body lotion in a not-as-intended way!
Maybe soften my leather setee? use it as shaving cream? clean my shoes?! any other ideas? :rotfl:
I've heard you can use it as shaving cream in the shower. I recently used up some moisturiser by turning it into exfoliator - just by adding some brown sugar.Grocery Challenge £114.22/ £1100 -
Postie has been so I have some make up INs to add, but will list later when I have unwrapped them and had a play:D
UU
41g Mitchum AP/Deo Stick. 5/21 HG. About to start last one, I guess that I can claim to have graduated on these, as I used to have loads purchased on offers. I am getting there on toothpaste too, must check how many new ones are lurking.
I am having a re-organisation of my nail polishes today, too windy and chilly, with showers of rain to bother to go out anywhere. All very sad(but great fun) to be getting them onto spreadsheets, so far have done OPI, LD, Nails Inc and A-England. A few earmarked for the CS and a small amount to be TA, mostly B**ts No. 7 from 4 or 5 years ago, I have polishes that are well over 10 years old and even if they separate out they mix back fine, but the No7 are a pain and I never buy them now (hopefully they may have improved the formula, but not willing to risk my cash to find out:eek:)

I've had the same thing with my skin improving a lot with actually using the goo rather than stashing it. Three Visionaire Nuit serum samples used up and for the first time in decades no yellow spots, normalising skin and even some of the fine red threads are disappearing.0
