  • Woop got my first UU's!

    M&S mini showergel - verbena - WNBA
    M&S mini showergel - coconut - WNBA

These were part of a little set of four I bough in the January sales last year. I got quite a few for a pound each to give as token birhday gifts at work. The first time I went to give one was June and I noticed the packaging AND each individual bottle had a use by date of September printed on it! So I didn't gift them and I won't be stocking up in the Jan sales again!

Anyway - used two up, hardly a smell, weird lumpy gel texture. meh.

    IN-

    Neutrogena T-Gel.

I promised myself no INs at all. But strictly speaking this is a medical item (right?!)
For some reason as the seasons change I get really bad dandruff and a crazy itchy head. I tried putting some tea tree oil in my shampoo to UU but no success. So this was essential and is actually horrible, stinks and makes my hair squeaky but it does the job.
It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

  • Hello all,
It's been quite busy on here hasn't it?
Thanks for all the comments re matte eyeshadows. VALM, good to know the Makeup Geek ones are worth it though, having looked online, their neutrals seem to be more warm-toned and I'm a cool taupe kinda girl so I'm now leaning towards Naked Basics 2. I was looking at making my own MAC palette of either 2 or 4 but, moneywise, the UD is a better option as it also includes a pale satin which I can use as an inner corner/under brow highlight. Still trying to hold out though and not buy anything!

    Couple of little UUs.
    29. Bare Minerals Bare Skin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation sachet. Wasn't my colour but wanted to see what it was like. Really hated the feel of it on my skin. It just sat on top of my skin. WNB
    30. Kerastase Elixir Ultime Beautifying Oil Masque mini. From their advent calendar. This was quite hard to rinse out but left my hair quite soft. This mini pot only provided one use for me; my hair is a couple of inches below my shoulders. WNBA. Don't think it's worth the money full size but nice to try.

Put together some more bits for my sister and SIL to look through tomorrow. If they don't want them the new stuff will go to the refuge and the used stuff will have to go in the bin. It is not going back in my drawers! Also got a few bits on eBay. Will post about these once I know where they're going. :)

Well done on your UUs! So satisfying isn't it?
Sometimes INs are necessary. I've got to replace my 'medicinal' shampoo soon, too. I have problems with an itchy flaky scalp and I cannot stand T-Gel so have worked my way through many different ones over the years. I can recommend a couple of L'Oreal Elvive ones. If you go on Boots.com and search Elvive dandruff, the bright blue bottle and the black bottle are both very good and care for your hair more than T-Gel. Also, Vosene is a milder version of T-Gel. It's still that weird brown colour but it doesn't smell as bad. The best I've used recently though is Vichy Dercos. They have a few different anti-dandruff ones including one for sensitive scalps. They're all great and I only have to use them every third or fourth wash. Vichy a bit harder to get hold of unfortunately but you can order it from Escentual. Just some ideas for next time you have to replace your T-Gel. :)
  • I have never used lush products before but everyone always raves about them.

I'd like to treat myself, maybe a gift set would be best?

    What would you ladies reccomend?
Hi! You'd be best off going to the shop if you have one near you and just smelling everything. There are a lot of things I love from Lush but quite a few things I cannot stand! There's such a range of different scents it can be a bit overwhelming. Personally I like things with a floral scent or citrus and I don't like things that smell sweet or like berries. Lush have a fair bit of both.
    What do you prefer?
The staff are very knowledgeable about the products though so they'd be able to point out what you might like.
Some of my favourites are Butterball bath bomb, Sakura bath bomb, anything that has the Rose Jam scent, Olive Branch Shower Gel and French Kiss bubble bar. Also, for facial skincare, their spray toners are lovely and I think the 9-5 cleanser is great too. :)

I first started buying LUSH products for my daughter. She's a lover of their bath bombs and bubble bars not so the soaps. Whereas my favourite products from there are : Cup o coffee (scrub), porridge soap (body scrub), their face masks and Defluff shaving soap. Whilst I could pick up a gift set for Emma I could not pick up a skincare one for me so I'd suggest too that you go in and mooch first. Bear in mind what you have in your stash re skincare because their products are fresh and must be used as soon as open. I am dying to get through my facial exfoliator a to get back to cup o coffee.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Hi, hope you don't mind me asking but can anyone recommend a good shampoo/conditioner for hair thats both coloured and bleached. I changed my hair a lot yesterday. its now dark at the root and blond on the ends. I got a treatment put on it at the hairdressers, but worried that my usual everpure shampoo/conditioner won't be caring enough for it. I think I may need a different shampoo/conditioner (or a weekly treatment) fom now on. I usually just dye it 1st time its ever had bleach on it, plus I'm also trying to grow it so need to keep it in good condition. Any idea's. Thanks

4 INs to declare from Fabulous Forever.

Fabulous Eye Shade In Taupe (Matte Eyeshadow)
Fabulous Lid Colour Silver Mist (Lightweight Cream Eyeshadow With Wand Applicator) Flattering Silver/Lavender Colour
    Fabulous Lip Prime
Fabulous Light (Lightweight Highlighter In Brush/Pump Applicator).

I like the effect very much on first use, the lid colour and the highlighter are lighter in texture than my existing products and much better suited to my aged eye lids:D. I will work through all my eye shadows and palettes and will probably be giving away quite a lot of them.

I also think that you need to visit a LUSH shop in person, I don't live near to any now so don't use their products anymore, but I used to love some of their cleansers and shower gels, also their products for skin conditions such as eczema, but found nearly all of the soaps and shampoo bars that I tried far too drying for me.

While I was delving to find a pump to fit into my White Company shower gel and body lotion (only 50% successful so about to order some Muji bottles to decant into) I found a pump for the 1 litre ABC skin wash bottles, I have 1 bottle in use and 1 spare, so if you need the spare pump you are very welcome to it.

Like others have said, I'd recommend going to a lush store first to smell things and see what you like. The staff are always keen to help. There are so many different smells. I have no set type of smell I like personally, I like both sweet and more citrusy scents, basically whatever I think smells good. Some of my favourites are: snowman shower jelly, pot o gold shower jelly, sweetie pie shower jelly, refresher shower jelly, snow fairy shower gel, rose jam shower gel, yummy mummy shower gel, rub rub rub shower scrub, mm melting marshmallow moment, Sakura bath ballistic, creamy candy bubble bar, bunch of carrots bubble bars, rockstar soap. I also loved Phoenix rising bath ballistic but they discontinued it and I missed it last time it was on lush kitchen :'( some products are seasonal (Easter or Christmas) so I'm always sure to stock up if I really like something.

I've been on a 12 mile bike ride this afternoon, luckily the weather held out and I've just had a nice bath to warm up! Just lit my favourite bunny cake Yankee candle :)

    UU:

Lush pink fun- Wnba nice enough don't get me wrong, and I love the snow fairy/candy smell but i prefer to use a normal lush soap or a bubble bar. It's a nice novelty idea for kids but I think a little on the expensive side for me personally. 1/2 a bar produced just enough bubbles (although I do like a lot). I didn't try it as a soap. Would use if I get it in a gift set again but probably won't buy it otherwise. Prefer creamy candy bubble bar or Rockstar soap which are similar smells. Got another in stash anyway.

Avon foot works toasted macadamia nut exfoliating scrub 75ml- WBA really liked the smell of this and it felt nice and scrubby, not sure if it was working Miracles on my feet but I enjoyed using it anyway. Think this is discontinued now though which is a shame but would get again if I could find it again. Need to hunt in stash for something to replace this.

L'occitane rose tenderness hand cream 30ml- WBA L'occitane hand creams are my favourite. For me personally, they are the most moisturising and just feel lovely to use, not sticky and sink in really well. I liked the smell of this and the packaging. Really sad it's gone as I don't think you can get this particular one anymore. For me, worth the money. My hands get very dry because of the job I do so I need something really moisturising to use on an evening. I do have more Loccitane in stash to use so don't need to get anymore yet but will when those are gone.

I am after a recommendation for a Matt clear nail polish. I have bought OPI matte top coat and I find it cracks less than 24 hours after applying wether I apply one or 2 coats. I need a clear matte nail polish that can stand up to being in washing up water and does not flake off. Any ideas?

    Morning all
A couple of UUs over the weekend two bottles of sanctuary body wash, I've had this in my stash for ever so pleased to reach the end of it.
Nivea roll on deodorant UU as well so will be borrowing DHs until I pick some more up. Think I'll stick with roll one as I'm trying to cut down on aerosols where I can.
