Sat/Sun 27th/28th February - What small DFW things will you do today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:money:

    Hi everyone

    Happy weekend! :D

I hope everyone has had a good night's sleep and is feeling bright and breezy this morning. I woke up with the code I've been working on running through my head and thoughts on how I should change it - the life of an IT geek ;) - it's crazy, I can see it all line-by-line in my head. Feel like I should put the past 2 hours on my timesheet!!

I don't get paid until Monday officially but the money is there already so I'll get on YNAB this morning to see how far I can make it stretch!

Covering a class for someone later. :A

Planning on blitzing the house this afternoon - am v close to getting to the bottom of the laundry basket  That never happens to me :D

OH is working later but I think we can squeeze in lunch between me coming back from work and him leaving for it... HM soup

Falafel for dinner tonight - lots of veggies and dips etc. - and can use up bits from the freezer to make it a mezze platter :p

Take care everyone - I'll be popping back throughout the day - you know how I like being kept company when I'm home alone :p

    xx

    Hi February Folk,

Just a quick post before I go continue the Great Big Canal Challenge. Thanks for starting La E.

Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Month Nine:

    * Post two eBay items I've sold. Now we've paid off the car bill this is profit. :D Parcelled up with stationery wombled from around the house. Tissue boxes, bags-for-life...anything cardboard is regularly sacrificed for outgoing packaging.

    * Take a packed lunch out with us and a flask.

    That's about it. Back later.

  • Morning all :hello:
Thanks for the start LaE - I feel your pain re the money and hope the flat is occupied soon. We're another £1000 down this month as dh still hasn't gone back to work... :(
Enjoy your canal walking Ally - and well done replenishing the Aus fund so quickly :T
I have a list of things to do as long as my arm - not all of them money saving, but I do like to be accountable to a list :p
    :grinheart Check banking and PAD
:grinheart Get the budget ready for payday on Monday and working out if I have any spare money at all (unlikely)
:grinheart Borrow £20 from savings, which I will replace tomorrow with tutoring money, so I can go to my butchers and get some meat for the weeks ahead. If I don't do it today I won't get there until next weekend.
:grinheart Start some housework - I've been completely not bothered for a week or two but have gotten up this morning thinking the house looks like a small nuclear device has gone off in it.
:grinheart Get the rest of the family to help with above
:grinheart At least 1 load of washing
:grinheart Visit my mam later for a catch up and free feed
    :grinheart Continue latest crochet project
    :grinheart Make time for exercise
:grinheart Menu plan for the week ahead
:grinheart Possibly do some batch cooking
:grinheart Finalise the big online shop coming on Monday
:grinheart Get ds to football training
    :grinheart Get ds to gymnastics
:grinheart Send toy white blood cell to bestie
:grinheart Change the cat litter (ugh)
:grinheart: Clean the bathroom (now urgent)
That's quite some list and I suspect that there will be more to come - I'm planning a busy day ahead...
Think my hormones are in overdrive this morning :p I've just seen Jurgen Klopp on the telly and think he's lovely. Plus Alex Deakin is doing the weather. All I need now is for Professor Brian Cox to be on tv and my entire weekend will be complete :rotfl:

  • Morning, happy weekend everyone!

I'm off to work, got up late and managed to convince OH to drop me off :)

    This weekend:
*Clean the study!!! 3 days in a row now and it still hasn't been done!
*Didn't have time to make lunch so not a NSD. Eat something SW-friendly for lunch (instead of Greggs!)
*Fetch my lovely nephew and bring him home to stay over. He's got Turkey dinosaurs for tea. He's two so very into dinosaurs at the moment.
*Check bank and move money around.
*Try not to argue with the customers at work!

That's all I got so far, off to work now :)
