Evening all,
Hope you've all had good days and managed to get out in the fresh air and sunshine
Today has been a SFDand had a generally good day. Got some washing done and on the line this morning, finished marking some coursework, then visited my gran at her nursing home, saw my parents, walked the dogs, did planning and marking this afternoon and I've just cooked a not very successful gluten free toad in the hole.
I'm off to research the costs of some of the work I am guessing that will need to be done. If its subsidence then much of it may be covered in the insurance, if not then I will need to pay for it - not sure which is better or worse!LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Quote for the day
When I loved myself enough
I began leaving whatever wasn't healthy.
This meant people, jobs, my own beliefs and habits-
anything that kept me small.
My judgement called it disloyal.
Now I see it as self-loving.Apple well done on your charity shop jacket find. My best jacket for many years was a man's black evening jacket - no-one ever noticed the buttons were on the wrong side. When it gave up the ghost (I had mended it several times) I went back to the charity shop to find another one. That was lent to one of the young people who lived with us for a time (dressing up to impress the gf's father) and I couldn't get it back off him - he wore it on stage when he was playing with his band.
Calling listen to your body and take the time to get properly better. This flu type bug is really nasty.
clippy girl good luck with the shorts diet.
ccl so glad your laptop is back. Have a good return to work, but don't do too much.
Fmess you have had a productive day.
It's very quiet on here and we aren't even half way through the month. Have I scared everyone away?
That is the last quote I will be using from 'When I loved myself enough'. Tomorrow I will tell you a little about the author and then find something else to inspire us. I chose this quote as it echoes some things I was reading on the Kon Marie thread and it helps me at this point in my life.
I made a list yesterday of which bits (rooms/ sackfuls of paper) are bothering me the most and jotted down some ideas of how to tackle them. Two of them are DS3's room (need to throw out the bed but have to find somewhere to put all the stuff in the bed drawers) and mum's paperwork (which was handed to me in a binbag). So I have a tentative plan and will try not to get overloaded during the week. Made a start on the paperwork this evening (started with the bin able stuff).
My counsellor said that my life had a lot of shoulds, oughts and have tos in it (my last counsellor said that 3 years ago). Lots of other people's problems too. So I've been pondering (especially the longer DS3 is away) what I might do if I only consider myself (seeing as no one else considers my needs).
I did mention to DS1 the other week that if / when he has children (entirely up to him and his gf) I would like to be involved. So if my health improves (it will, I will be better than this) and they do have children, I am being signed up for f-t office hours childcare duties:eek:.
Today I am grateful for a lovely curry tea, for getting to the bottom of the washing up pile (roasting tin and grill) and for having free lives in a game I haven't played for a while. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
mothernerd - my home snagging so far has consisted of washing curtains and nets. Rather time-consuming, as they are/were sooo filthy(!) but very satisfying once we reacht eh finished product.
Thank you for having it in the challenge!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
My goodness. I go AWOL for a few days and you all go mad......busy, busy, busy!:rotfl:
What hectic weekend for me too! I've spent a lot of time walking as the weather is so beautiful. I've also been helping my DD1 in her garden, digging over a veggie bed.:D
I've spent the whole morning washing and hanging out loads of washing, both mine and my friends. Isn't it great to line dry them?!:j
The lamb I had for free has been turned into Irish stew, to have with Cullen skink, ( I think that's how you spell it) and the rest will be roasted tomorrow to have with lots of veg. It lovely to get so much free food as I know food is a need and can be one of our mos expensive commodities. I'm so lucky that my food bill is so low due to my freebie and discounts.:A
I haven't been shopping so that's 12 NSDs so far this month! I may have to get potatoes tomorrow but as they are for my friend, I'm hoping I won't weaken and spend any of my money!
Well I'm off to hang some more washing out!:D

Hi everyone,
Thought I would pop on and say hi. I have failed miserably at come on here and reporting back on stuff, however I have been keeping a tally of NSDs and I have only £130 to pay off my card! Hurrah! This will be paid in the next few days when I get paid from my second job. I won't join the challenge because I rarely get the chance to come on but I feel in control of my money and the debt is going meaning that money can go into savings[STRIKE]497.00[/STRIKE][STRIKE] 286.34[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]182.00[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]180.00[/STRIKE][STRIKE] 130.00[/STRIKE] CC1 Paid!!:j

Thank you mothernerd, both for reading my diary and for letting me join late in the day.
It's such a good challenge I'm sure to benefit even if there is only half the month left.
Home I got the ladder out and put up a lampshade that has been on a chair for an embarrassing length of timeTomorrow I will again try and look for an electrician for paid work but it's good to do the things I can do for free first
I already have a reduced food budget and will have from 24/03 for the whole month too. It's probably more like 20% less than normal
Working from home tomorrow so lunch is soup healthy and homemade
I'll add items to the donate bag tomorrow although I can't deliver it until I use transport as walking to save money
I exercised for 60 minutes plus today, lots of walking and a swim too
I'll report in tomorrow too
Have a positive evening

Apologies for not posting yesterday. Flu got me too headachey.
Today I had a sick day off work, as per friends orders and Dr Mothernerd advice. Had a lie in this morning which I never do.
Popped to lidls and bought heaps lemons, garlic, ginger and oranges I will kill this cold as hearing that two of my neighbours workmates have got pneumonia after this flu, made my realise last few weeks my diet has been awful and I need to look after myself.
Welcome DIA to the thread.
Went and asked one if my neighbours this afternoon how much their repairs to the mortar cost and looks like I will be here for ever 3k!
I may go on holiday first because just so fed up with house costs and life is short need some fun.
Back to work tomorrow so steamy bath and early night. Phoned in this morning to say I was ill, boss's reaction but we haven't got any milk. Men!!!!!LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220
