I agree that representation without taxation is almost as bad as taxation without representation as we had over a century ago.

However, an individual who has worked for eg x years and becomes unemployed is CLEARLY deserving of JSA.

    Hence, it's called Contributions-based JSA.

I agree the others are 'trigger' benefits for children or cold weather and so on and you could restrict those as is planned.

It's important to combat fraud; but ATOS and the one-size-fits-all bureaucracy failed [too numerous to mention but they asked an amputee in Liverpool whether he had recovered from his injury: hence the answer, no my leg hasn't grown back] as has the DWP/JCP with sanctions. We just can't seem to 'do' big IT projects in this Country - well not in the public sector anyway.

Well no actually someone might work for twenty years but not have the contributions for the qualifying years required for CB JSA, therefore they may deserve it but are not entitled to it, but they maybe entitled to apply for IB JSA, which if they have savings or a partner who works they wont get or only get a small amount

Anyone entitled to CB or IB JSA still have to follow the rules and apply for jobs or they may get sanctioned.

So its not a case of what you deserve but what the DWP says you are entitled to.

    Don't forget, after tax that's £1.75!

No, actually it isn't, because Free Pay rises to £11,000 in April, meaning that we'll have another £400 free pay, on which we're not paying tax, which is 25%.

So 25% of £400 is £100 a year, which is just under £2 a week, so we'll only pay tax on a bit of it . :j

And non pensioners, who are tax payers, will reap the benefit of having an extra £100 a year - which is almost £2 a week, which is almost the same as the SRP increase. But of course, some may say that we shouldn't have that extra 37p or whatever, cos it might lead us astray. ;)

So tax payers will be rolling in it, pensioners will be rolling in it a little bit more, and the only ones who won't be living the high life, are those who are neither pensioners or tax payers.

Sorry, I had 25% tax in my head for some reason, and it's 20%, so an extra £80 a year, and not £100. My apologies to anyone who'd "spent" that £20 in their head!!!!

    What utter tosh.!!!

And they probably do deserve more than you.

I find it is always the ones with nothing to share who want a goodly portion of whatever other people have managed to accumulate.

Is it a case then you have to post a number of times on a thread to get your approval .

Must remember to get Lanzarotes permission to post on a thread.

If you really have nothing better to do than trying to snipe at me because I have made one post on this thread then you really need to get a life and just to remind you this is an open forum.!!!

Post as many times as you like. My sentiments about sharing that which individuals save will remain the same.
