    Evening all

Gorgeous cat piccies - can't remember who posted the one of "annie" - but is she a Turkish Vann? She looks like my old boy who we called Oliver as he's always asking for more food.

Made £160 at the boot sale today - very happy with that! Given DD's £20 each as most of it was their stuff, going to use some of it tomorrow to take DD's out for the last day before going back to school.

I'm also feeling very nervous about DD1 starting secondary this week - it's suddenly hit me that she's going to be 4 miles away rather than just at the bottom of the road and she's got to get herself there and back everyday on the bus  I know she'll be fine - I just worry - it's a mum thing don't you know! lol

Off to veg on the sofa for the rest of the evening - why is standing outside selling stuff so utterly knackering?

    Have a great evening all.

  • Hi again.
    Hugs to Mrs Mix
PP glad you had a good hols despite everything
Happy b'days & hugs to those as appropriate.
Lodger finally arrived at 4:30 with 3 large friends & 3 even larger suitcases, finally got rid of friends at 6:00.
Had long chat re 'cultural differences' & she promptly apologised, she has also paid her rent in full up front for full month!!!
I can see food becoming entertaining as she has a very strict diet, something to do with her religion, she eat's only one make of cereal, soya milk, pork & chicken. Still I'll do the cooking & she can take it or leave it.
    Hugs Hester

I've thought of a great way to rapidly loose weight if I start slipping ~ amputation , I figured a limb or two must weigh a good few pounds!:rotfl:

  • HI all,
Is Smokeybabe ok. Her DH is poorly in hospital- if you are there  ((((((hugs))))) to you. I have had a fairly quiet day. Went to a car boot this morning and got a hooded hairdrier (for heating conditioner on my hair) for £10. Me and DS will try it out later.
Had Joe, My standard poodle clipped today. He has gone from big curly dog to little black whippet-type dog and we are all in shock.
looking forward to roast dinner now, cooked by lovely DH.
Hope you are all well and all those on Frogga's campaign are doing OK, love to all DeeDee xxxxxx

  • Pooky, it was me! She is just an 'ordinary' moggy - long-hair. And everyone who meets her says she is gorgeous! She doesn't have a very good coat right now; she was hurt at the end of Jan. and had to have 1/3 of the fur shaved off so they could operate. Took to about the end of July for her to completely heal and be allowed outside - but you dont' want to get me started on the incompetancy of the vet re: the insurance claim!

Dinner was lovely - the steak + ale pie turned out perfectly, and the mash + cabbage, too. Dessert is chocolate blanc mange with bananas.

Recipe for the dessert: 3 tbsp cornflour, 6 tbsp cocoa, 3 tbsp sugar, 1 pint milk. Mix the dry ingredients together in a pot, add the milk and heat over med-low heat until thickened and the cornflour is cooked - stir constantly! Can be made without the cocoa, just add vanilla instead; or add in mint oil or extract. Makes 5 small servings.

    Hi everyone

thought id have a break from sorting out the spare room and the final boxes from moving... i am knick knack nooed....still its burning calories i guess :T .well it had better be  .....

Frogga..... i know that if i can get out of the supermarket without any junk im ok...and hubbys junk is usually nuts - which dont bother me(although he does have 1/2 tub of walnut icecream in the freezer)and it hasnt bothered me  the nearest shop to home is 3miles away.... and trust me im never gonna be that desperate for choc that i will walk that far for it :p . Tommorrow is shopping day... and i have my list ready to go.... yogurts - thats the answer... i get some here that are stunning and satisfy my need for anything sweet... and i must get some sugar free jelllies made tommorow... it sounds odd but sugar free jellie with some fruit in the bottom and then when i want to eat it a few spoons of any yougurt on the top and to me its a low cal triffle.....you should try it.... i make them in individual dishes so it feels more like a proper treat!!

So far i have had no cravings...i think that eating proper meals...in sensible portions is working for me... this week ive had pizza, roast chicken dinners - roasties, stuffing etc, chicken pasta, liver,

So rather being on the "D" word i tell myself that im just eating better..the minute i say D**t i feel deprived...

Ooh i had better stop kidnapping the thread...so sorry :o
better get back to the spare room

    OOOHHH ODDS

I may have to try that...here in germany you get some brilliant stuff on the baking sections...you know the tiny glass tubes you get perfume samples in? well they do flavouring in them, rum, lemon allsorts and packets like you get yeast in that have flavourings in for putting in sponge cakes and they work out about 25pfor 3..ive never had use for them but the orange one may be nice in your pud:D

    Hello everyone,

I just wanted to say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to kyles ds2, hope you had a good day and a nice shopping trip this afternoon. :j

Things have been going on much as usual with me, nothing interesting to report so that's why I've not been posting much. I try to read the thread as much as possible though. My OH and I were up at twinks this weekend which was great, it's always good to see her and kyle and her family, and I also got a piece of nice cherry birthday cake :D I hope her ds2 liked his presents - my OH was impressed with the star wars lego toy that he had put together. :T

Back to work tomorrow - I don't know where the time is going just now! Got a few things to finish up this evening, and by then it'll be bedtime.

*hugs* to all, take or leave as you please...
