Well, I've got the plum sauce finished, and teh lids have all popped, the cabbage is on for s+s cabbage, beef is braising in stock + ale for beef + ale pie. DH is chopping up all the debris from clearing out the brambles etc in the garden, I've had fruit for lunch. Cats have had fun watching DH work and running about the place.
Foot is sore, tho. Oh well.0 -
Hi!
Happy Birthdays to Smokeybabe and Kyle's DS!
(((Hugs))) to anyone feeling low/unwell.
I read the thread about 3 hours ago and attempted to type mine but other things got in the way eg DH, DD1 and DD2!
I went to church with DD1 this morning while DH and DD2 lazed around in their pjs. DD2 thinks she's Noel Coward and like to wear her dressing gown for most of the day :rotfl: but she's in for a shock in the morning when she'll be dressed by 7.20am.
It's raining here so the girls have got one of their friends over for a play upstairs...sounds like they're playing with a herd of elephants though!
Jobs today have been washing/drying bedding and towels and I've got ironing to do and the dreaded getting uniforms/packed lunched ready for the return tomorrow.
I'm not cooking tonight as we're getting some lovely free food from our Greek Takeaway :j . I certified a passport application for their son and they've insisted on giving us a special meal of Greek pasta and vine leaves (both family recipes). I get asked to do lots of passport forms from friends and neighbours so it's especially nice when we get yummy free food!
Hope everyone is having a peaceful day.0 -
Just popped it to say hello. We still don't have a phone line, broadband (obviously) or TV in our new house. I want to try and get by for a while so we can really see how much spare cash we have around. No TV is not a problem....it does us good to be without it for a bit. No phoneline isn't a drama as we have mobiles. No broadband is driving me nuts and I love coming on here. I having heart attacks daily over whether I'm missing any bargains.
OH wants Sky...which of course comes with free broadband. So with luck we'll be able to afford it and will sign up in the not too distant future. After phone line sorted.
I'm online at my parents place at the moment. Babe is asleep and so I'm stuck here for a while. What a shame.
Little one is doing great. They've taken her off one of her doses of medication and have said we can stop the otherone in a few weeks time if we have no fits. The doctors said that it appears that we've been very lucky and that she's going to be fine. Such great news. The one question mark is over her right eye. It isn't quite right. So she's booked in to be put to sleep so they can take a proper look at it at the end of September. She's also just started to pull herself up using the furniture and is crawling properly at last.
She's rapidly turning into a little toddler. And I'm starting to miss my little baby. Sniff.
Shopping is done for quite a while as I built up a stock of various things whilst we were staying with family. I have enough casserole jars (bought them when they were on offer) to last for quite some time. But I am now on a very strict budget as my funds are very limited. Fingers crossed that I'll be able to keep to it.
OH is becoming very conscious about turning things off. This I am very happy about as he use to switch the TV to standby and leave it there.
Hugs to those that need them and a big hello to all. Will report in again when I get net access (probably a trip to see granny)Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.

Mine probably had a call from bil his family are much more important despite the fact that they didn't speak to each other for neary 15 years unfortunatley for my kids they got "forgotten" the eldest one can see it now and does comment but the youngest two just don't understand. the younger two didn't really know my mum she died when ds2 was 2 so .dd never met her,so it makes me so angry that she can't even make the effort for 1 dayHappy Birthday to your ds2, mrs mix
