    Morning all,

Thanks for info re governers coppers and mrsmoneypenny, the head was playing down the time commitment, but she would, wouldn't she! I already listen to readers on Wednesday afternoon, and I know I don't really have the time, but I am very bored with the paid stuff at the moment and this might help with focusing my mind on something worthwhile. Would love a different paid job but at the moment the hours I do are very convenient and flexible and I would never find anything else that fits in.

    Anyway today:

    Taking children swimming
    Walking dog
    Bit more messing in garden
    Painting
    Hhi

jazee hope old dog is OK.

    Hugs to all xx

I've just handed in my notice as a Governor. Been doing it for 6 years. It is more commitment than they let on and like all walks of life some people seem to do an awful lot more than others. I'm at a secondary school. 4 Full Gov Meeting a year, 2 hours each. 4 meetings for my committe, 2.5 hours each - as chair each takes me about 3 hours prep (previously I sat on 2 other committees so 9 more meetings plus reading per year). I attend school approx 12 times a year for other meetings/events. Spend about 5 hours per month looking at data, reports etc and then there is gov training. I have really enjoyed it, it helped me keep up my skills but since returning to the paid stuff I now need the time back for family life.

Thanks - panic not, I'm ok. All that happened was I got the mobility buggy caught on an awkward bit of ground, and Jack chose that moment to run to make friends with a small Spaniel approaching us, so we managed between us to turn the buggy over. I'm a tad stiff and bruised, but otherwise unscathed. :o

Hopefully, see you all next week. :hello:
