Well I've watched a film, done lots of laundry, ranted at some fellow reps about a problem with work and got some very good advice (its great being in contact with people who have been in the same job for 20+ years ;) ) eaten my tea and I'm ready for my bed :rotfl: I think part of the problem is I appear to have an abscess starting at the back of one of my front teeth to go along with a cough and a cold I've got so I'm feeling drained.

I think I'm going to get sorted to go to bed, then get up early again tomorrow and take Zack for a stupidly long walk down to the river and back which is about a 6 mile round trip. Since it'll be cold it'll help blow away some of the cobwebs while I'm at it ;) If I really shift myself then I might even get to see the sunrise :D Then I can get on with some shopping (I got the munchies and ate the crisps I got for DD's lunches :o) and laundry as I want to wash DD's quilt & pillows which I didn't do today and I can tackle the ironing pile as all of DDs uniform should be dry by then.

I have made what looks like my best ever batch of marmalade!
And cleaned kitchen and bathroom and stripped and changed my bed.
Next week is going to be stupidly busy and I am going to my cousin's funeral Tuesday, he was 54. That will wipe out a day and a half. He lived in Flylady Flower land.

    Hi all, hope everyone's ok,

Biscuit monster I was a parent governor for a few years, usually schools cry out for people to take on the role but once I had to go to election & had to do a statement as to why I should be school governor. It is a worthwhile thing to do but it does take up your time as not only do you attend governor meetings you may also take up sub committee roles too which entail extra meetings. I myself felt I needed to also practically help the school too as in listening to reading, taking part in activities, library duty ect. You are also involved in ofstead inspections too. Hope this gives you some idea of what it may involve.

Narco Hope things are settling down for you now , seems it was one thing after another for you.

Today my main fly thing was rearranging my living room furniture but I also had a trip to the metrocentre too.

    Morning all.

Glad the frame is sorted Narco.
Well done on the marmalade Valli.

I'd like to say that I've woken up refreshed, but I only got up because OldDog was being sick/weeing/etc and I've also got a painful leg, probably from gardening yesterday.

This is my plan for today, chicken is already in slow cooker, but I've a feeling the leg could leave me restricted:

    WUDUPA
    Gym
    Bath
    Walk dogs
    Bath dogs
    Hoover/sweep/mop through
    Gardening

I've run out of compost and had planned to get some yesterday when DH got home with the car, but by 2pm I'd run out of steam and had to have two hours in bed. Will have to call the vet tomorrow and make an appointment for OldDog. The constant disruptions day and night are not good for me or her.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Morning

Hope old dog is ok jazee and narco hoping you have a calmer day! My sinuses are still bothering me but I am going to potter today. Must do my finance spreadsheet and make plans for the week. I need to be here more, my flying is not going as well as it should and I miss you all.

Right another brew first I think.

I hope everyone is as well as can be.
Back garden tidied yesterday, front garden weeded this morning, load of washing in, knitting pattern folder culled of patterns printed off that I'll never knit.
I hung up my governors hat last year after doing it for 10 years, it's a worthwhile thing and very rewarding but does take up a lot of time.

Dd3 round yesterday so lovely to spend some time with her and her fella.
Dd2 is round today with her fella and DGS.

Ds1 is busy this weekend open mic Friday, support act in town yesterday afternoon followed by open mic in another town so slept over dd2s, this afternoon he's got another open it elsewhere then will come back for food and then we need to give him a lift to his regular Sunday open mic. He's been invited to go to a recording studio sometime in March so he can record some stuff he's written.
Very busy lad at the mo but he's really enjoying it.

  • Morning all,

Thanks for info re governers coppers and mrsmoneypenny, the head was playing down the time commitment, but she would, wouldn't she! I already listen to readers on Wednesday afternoon, and I know I don't really have the time, but I am very bored with the paid stuff at the moment and this might help with focusing my mind on something worthwhile. Would love a different paid job but at the moment the hours I do are very convenient and flexible and I would never find anything else that fits in.

    Anyway today:

    Taking children swimming
    Walking dog
    Bit more messing in garden
    Painting
    Hhi

jazee hope old dog is OK.

    Hugs to all xx
  • As an example of how many meeting I attended, there was a full govs meeting every term which lasted at least two hours, then each committee you are on has its own sub meetings usually one each half term depending on what was going on. I was on two so I had at least five meetings each term. Then because I was also on the discipline committee if an exclusion was given we were required to go in during the school day to have a meeting with head, student and parents and listen to both side to decide if the exclusion should be upheld and was fair and legal. Then you get invited to the good stuff like concerts trip and special days as well as class observations and stuff like that. You can be as busy as you want to be and put as much as you want into it. It can be very rewarding and enjoyable.
