sorry to go off tangent but I am in England and I believe my use of the word defamation to be correct. I know this is only Wilkipedia and therefore open to misuse but their definition of defamation is:
In law, defamation is the communication of a statement that makes a false claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may harm the reputation of an individual, business, product, group, government or nation.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slander_and_libel
I used the word defamation deliberately as it can be used to explain an action that may harm reputation.
Anyway, that is quite immaterial to the point in question. Ultimately the OP must decide what she wants to do and whether she feels aggrieved enough to take this further rather than just take the refund and let it go. Whilst others may have different views we can all only offer opinions that he OP is free to take or to ignore.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. There are millions of people selling fake items on ebay, there is a very good market for fakes, simply beacause people dont see the point in paying xxx amount for the origional in a shop when they can purchase what seems the same on ebay for a fraction of the price, hence £100 for a bag that retails at £300, you have been offered a full refund including p+p, put it down to bad experience & move on, next time you know! giving one women so much hassle over £100 is not gonna change the ebay world, when there is loads of other fraud going on, she listed an auction & you placed a bid if she said in that listing that the item is 100% authentic then i can understand your frustration but if this was never mentioned i dont see the problem, im sure she has feedback where many people are happy with her fake bags so just let it go.0

Did you really think you were getting a genuine bag for so little compared to RRP? If you want 100% genuine you have to pay for it.
Personally If you can't tell its a fake from a mile off I'd keep it. I've bought fake watches on holiday before form lucky lucky men and been well happy.
Oh and I'd never be able to justify spending over £40 on a handbag, let alone £100......but that's just me

Mulbury staff get a really nice discount. Get your friend to get you one.
Personally I'd return the back and inform trading standards.April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200 -

your use of the word is quite right, its just that defamation is not a crime in England under that name, it is in Scotland.0 -
Paypal have a different way of dealing with fake items (so I've read recently) that does NOT involve returning the illegal item to the seller.
Throw the book at the scumbag, OP, drop them in it.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

She listed the bag as used stating she was having a clear out plus its not a popular bag, so I thought that explained the price. I thought that was the whole point of eBay, to sell unwanted items to others, who in turn want to buy them because its cheaper than buying brand new!
I've bought a few bags before on eBay and they've been a fraction of their RRP and they've been the real deal. More fool me for getting stung this time.
I admit love my bags, I have very few indulgances in life; I don't own a car, smoke, drink, get takeaways or wear flashy clothes and I'm looking after two small children while studying a degree. I think everyone deserves something that makes them go

really? tell me more

I'd rather not return the bag to her if poss because she keeps saying in her messages that she intends to re-sell it. I don't want her selling someone else a fake!0 -
i remeber some guy going after a seller that never sent him a phone he bought (of course via ebay) and i believe ebay deleted his thread from their forums, they didnt like the interest other ebayers where showing,. ebay banned the seller and they where happy with that, so the buyer had his own webpage opened,.. well the last i heard was the seller had to move house to avoid going to court etc etc, the buyer had bailiffs at sellers door etc etc,
ok thats off topic,. anyways i think most fake sellers on ebay make it obviously that its a fake,
ebay make millions off it a month, and ebay are much more relaxed when a power seller is catched out,
I think you should go after ebay lol, as they are meant to be watching this stuff,,0 -
I escalated it to a paypal claim, apparently I have to send the item back to her at my own cost (providing a tracking number) and I'll get a refund. Next time I'll buy using a credit card. Sigh. Her contact details on ebay are false, how do I report her for that?0
