Husband or wife - Who's the better cook in your household?
Comments

Quality of food we're about equal, though I'm definitely more inventive (grew up with Mum throwing whatever she could find in the fridge into the pan!). I used to cook all the time, but OH has been complaining recently that he does all the cooking since we've moved house. I hate cooking in a rush. Mind you, the place is a total bombsite whenever he's been in there, so I seem to end up doing all the clearing up (seriously, why can't men put the peelings in the food waste? It's *right there*!!).0

I don't know any couples in real life who share the cooking.
I know one man who does all the cooking for that family (SAHD) beyond which it's all done by the women, who either do or don't work outside the home.
So I've been amazed by how many men on this thread cook, having hardly met any ever.
Next I'll be finding out housework is shared too ...0 -

Of course! A good thing too, since I hate ironing with a passion :beer:0 -

It is. When both are working equal hours then of course it's shared. Unless you're being sarcastic of course? I can't quite tell!
I know so many men who do their share in the cooking. One of my bosses was always sharing recipes with me. Again, him and his wife both shared cooking duties.0 -

Definitely me; although I have been teaching my husband to cook and he is starting to enjoy preparing meals. It is great that he is building up a repertoire and gaining in confidence. I love being cooked for for a change. He never used to be home until late and as I love cooking (not every day though!) food has always been my responsibility.0

I do 'real cooking from scratch' but as my husband likes to eat very early, on work nights (he's retired) he furnishes the meal. The most exotic he gets is something like we had tonight: good quality sausages, mashed carrot and swede from a tray in the microwave and Bisto. It was lovely and tasty, though, and I appreciate it. I have to check the sausages as he's colourblind.
I love cooking batches on the weekend, and these will be reheated by my husband or me as and when.

Husband the better cook, almost every time.
And he irons.
And he has taught the sons likewise.
(I am spooked by the frying pan.)0 -
Wifey says me :T but I think that's to get out of cooking because when she (rarely) does :j, it tastes ok to me.
Don't ask about the ironing :mad:0
