    Definitely me.

The wife can't even make a spagbol without a tin of Dolmio.

In her defence, I did spend three years getting a City & Guilds in Catering followed by two years working as a chef before a career change.
  • If you want to eat good food before 9pm then I'm your gal.
If you want fancy dishes like tuna tartare or home made croquettes then he's your fella but you might not get served till midnight & there'll be a disproportionate amount of clearing up needed! He's good at picking up a takeaway though ;)
  • OH likes to think he is a good cook. His 'speciality' is a pasta/rice/bacon/tomato/peas thing which we affectionately call Dad's Jumble. We don't have it often, because it takes him about 7 hours to make. And he always burns the bottom of the pan.

I used to think I was the better cook; I'd make everything from scratch - gnocchi, pasta, souffl!s, fondants. They either turned out great, or were... interesting.

The other half freestyles meals on a daily basis, and they all taste good; she's a much better cook.

my OH, definitely, he's been a chef all his adult life, and I have no interest whatsoever in cooking.

OH is a great, creative cook.

When I decided to do a degree, we negotiated jobs and he picked shopping and cooking. I had washing, ironing and cleaning before we could afford a cleaner.

If I cooked regularly everyone would die if boredom! :p

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)
  • I think we are both as good as eachother. Although, I always like to cook. I have no idea why. I tend to cook for a few days ahead. I just enjoy it. My method is throwing things together, not following a set recipe and basically winging it upon serving! He must enjoy it because he always thanks me and gives me a kiss after every meal! :)

    .

What? You mean there are other ways to make it?! :p

I can cook perfectly well, like trying new recipes etc, but I would say DH is the better cook. I usually fail on the seasoning. I don't want things to be over seasoned, as you can add salt to later on but you can't take away. But, I have learnt that some things just do need abit of seasoning or they can taste quite bland.

I am better at baking though.

My cat makes a lovely crème brul!e, but I'm better at the savoury stuff.
