Men claim they are better; 'most chefs are male blah blah blah,' well put your money where your mouth is then, and share the cooking at home!

I think you'll probably find that is not true. I think most couples at least share the responsibility of cooking nowadays.
Depending on who's home at tea time, then that's who does tea. Unless it's a slow cooker meal and then of course that gets put on in the morning.
We're both good cooks, but I think DH maybe just has the edge due to him being better at seasoning, timing and his ability to handle fish. _pale_0 -

I suppose it depends on what you value more highly: quality or quantity.0 -
I'm a bit unimaginative when it comes to cooking. Meat and two veg I'm fine with, but it can get a bit boring. OH on the other hand does brilliant curries, risottos, chillies, stir fries and a mean roast. He always does the cooking on a Sunday, while I am doing housework and washing. Although mainly retired, I still do an evening job three times a week so he is used to cooking for himself anyway. Works for us!0

i live on my own so obviously do all the cooking, im a pretty good cook and can/will attempt most things. I don't use recipes, just chuck in whatever seems to be at hand and usually end up with a decent plate of food. Sometimes if I start out making a shepherds pie, I might change halfway through and it will become a lasagne.
my ex was a nightmare in the kitchen, he thought he was an amazing cook because he watched all the daytime cookery programmes, so could make lots of meals in various cuisines in theory. However when it came to the actual cooking of these delights, the amount of swearing emanating from the kitchen was unbearable, and I had clearly purchased the wrong type of eggs because the omelette didn't look or taste the same as it did on the TVMortgage = [STRIKE]£113,495 (May 2009)[/STRIKE] £67462.74 Jun 20190 -

Myself and recent ex were both as bad as each other. I wish I could bring myself to enjoy cooking but I really don't. Now I live on my own again I'm back to toast and pasta... last night I burnt the pasta

I am but I've been cooking since I was a kid so am a lot more comfortable with it.
He's not a bad cook, and getting better the more he practises, but does usually need to have a recipe to follow and the kitchen tends to look like a bombsite once he's finished.0 -
My wife beats me hands down0
