Am I right in thinking visidigi and baxt3r complete today? Good luck!
We've done a reduced Ikea visit today. After the roof saga we don't have as much to spend but I've got all the bathroom bits now and wardrobe being delivered tomorrow.

Checked my bank account and the Halifax have today taken my old mortgage payment, as well as planning to take another one next week! I guess they'd already requested the funds, even though they know the new one started yesterday. Should be a straight forward refund into the account by tonight (I hope).

Phone and broadband going in a week on Tuesday; we've got a now tv box to avoid the no sky/virgin issue so will be glad when that's up and running.

    Hah, I wish :(

Today has been a bit of a nightmare - despite chasing my solicitor for most of the week saying that I wanted to give my buyer confidence in the deal by getting signed as soon as possible my solicitor didn't heed my advice.

So the estate agent started to be funny !!!!!!s - they called the other half (annoying as shes not on the house sale I'm selling) to say our buyers were signing and breaking their chain next week and they want us to sign our contract to sell too on the same day.

They're doing this as we're both breaking chain and want confirmation we'll be out when we said we would, I get that, but when I called my solicitor to complain we find the buyers solicitor hasn't been in touch for over two weeks!

So after putting the EA back in their box and telling them no I wont get the docs on Friday morning next week and sign my sale Friday afternoon it suddenly dawned on me that the building society had been a bit quiet (its been super busy at work lately)..on ringing them I find they have done the valuation three weeks ago and done NOTHING since. The application disappeared into the big black hole of no patience.

So now I have an impatient buyer, a new house builder whos getting anti as its been 40 days since we signed, no mortgage and a solicitor who is sick of EA mind games.

    Cosmic. Happy weekend all! :rotfl:

p.s I am NEVER moving, ever again :D

Oh no visidigi! Why can't everyone just be on the same page of urgency?! Hopefully things will get moving next week then.

I heard from my solicitors today, they're expecting the search results soon so hopefully should get some progress soon! No idea what happens between now and exchange, but looking forward to getting something concrete in writing. Up until now the whole process has seemed so movable!

Also, made decisions about flooring and decided to go for Karndean and carpets from an independent, can't wait to actually get started on fitting out the house even if it is going to be expensive!

    Morning all!

Hope you are enjoying the new pad Haylescom, sorry to hear of your issues visidigi!

We have extended our rental until early may abd our solicitor has given us a date of 29th April this morning. I have now tasked him with making that date a week earlier, fingers crossed!

Interesting one this morning. Valuation done to new build.

Valued £10k less than we are paying - seems very odd - they did it without visiting it seems - as the site wasn't aware it had been done.

The problem I have is we haven't even done the fixtures and fittings and already its been valued below.

    Concerned now...

Mortgage is still good though as we under LTV for the product and have enough deposit.

Contemplating seeking more from the builder than we are getting. I suspect this may be why these houses were dropped in price by about 9k not long before we reserved.
