Citrus rind is always a good one - so orange & lemon peelings on the soil will keep them at bay.0

I heard that pop bottles filled with water placed around the garden keeps them out (apparently they dont like the reflections and it freaks them out).
The best thing my dad uses to keep the cats out of his veggie patch is.....a dog! Although the dog keeps digging up the potatoes while looking for his buried bones, so its a no-win situation.0 -
MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I don't have a problem with cats in my garden as I have a six feet high garden fence with plastic coated wire fitted on top, the sort you buy in a 10 metre roll to put around the borders. It is too unstable for cats to climb on and they can't get through it either. I originally put it up to deter human nightime visitors, but found it was good at keeping cats out too. However, I do allow cats to walk across the shed at the bottom of the garden, so they can use other gardens as toilets:rotfl:I just put the wire along the top of the shed at the front.
This method was very effective even when my next door but two neighbour had five moggies patrolling the area.0 -
What works best and is relatively cheap and easy to repel cats from my garden? I have considered a children's water pistol but by the time we had unlocked the door the cats would be well away. Are there any plants that cats hate? Or anything natural I can put onto my garden which will repel cats? Even a chemical as long as it doesn't damage the plants.0

Crushed up mothballs works for us but use gloves or you will stink yourself and your house out for hours.:rotfl::rotfl:make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
We were using the green get off crystals but a few weeks ago got an ultrasonic repeller that seems to work a treat (not noticed any mess in our garden and we did test it on our own (house) cat before setting it up)0
