Have you tried holly yet? Give it a go, in cuttings 12" - 18" and lay them all over the areas they enter your garden as well as all the parts they soil. They soon get fed up with having to pick their way through prickly bedding.

    Good luck.

No I haven't... where would I get it from... just go out one night with gloves, a carrier bag and my sacateurs lol?

They even poo in the chipped bark in my borders, so I'm going to get rid of that and put stones down... big ones, not shingle.

One of my neighbours doesn't do anything with their garden... it's a jungle... I wish they'd do it there instead... the neighbour wouldn't notice as they never go in it.
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

And another thing... fox poo is way worse than cat poo... I get them in my garden too.
    Lucky me

So put it on a lead and take it for a walk then.

Sue, you say these things were said with frivolity, well Im sorry, I dont even find it slightly amusing.
In fact, I find it quite sickening that peolpe can even think such things never mind post them on a forum.

  • About as stupid as the suggestion that cats should be taken out on leads for walks.
  • Hey I took my kitten out for walks on a lead to get her used to the traffic and to try show her some road sense and it must have worked as she never got hit!:T

I'm sorry, what's so daft about walking your cats?

I did it with my 3! I also had a tray indoors!

A puppy harness was the perfect size and they couldn't escape from it the way they could from a collar.

Lets be honest here, a lot of people choose to have cats because

unlike dogs they don't need walking

unlike birds they don't need their cages cleaning

unlike fish they don't need their tanks cleaning

unlike reptiles they don't need heat lamps

shall I go on, and on, and on...

some people don't even bother to wash their cat's eating/water bowls

a cat is a perfect lazy person's pet

Actually yes you could, but you'd be in trouble if you got caught! Personally I got very close to risking trapping the b*****s and taking them to the RSPCA 300 miles away.

    Daska.
Iam not a lazy pet owner.
I have a dog who gets walked for an hou in the morning, an hour in the evening, plays out in the garden for the rest of the day, and a walk before bedtime.
I have two tropical fishtanks, of a suitable size for the fish I keep in there, with two 10% water changes each week/
    And I have 3 cats.
Who are allowed to be just that. Cats.
If they s**t in your garden. So be it. Tough. I will not put them on leads, or keep them as house cats.
And I would rather associate myself with them than the likes of you.
    You disgust me.
I would like to put you in a box and drive you 300 miles away.

oliveoyl - ask around the neighbourhood as a lot of them would gladly let you have some holly clippings. However, if it's a problem use cuttings from brambles or prickly shrubs they work just as well and certainly make them think twice about 'visiting' you in future!
    Daska.

There's no need at all for that sort of direct talk TK, daska was not accusing you of being a lazy cat owner, her reference was to "a lot of people" not you directly.

Comments such as yours of "And I have 3 cats". "If they s**t in your garden. So be it. Tough." are exactly what far too many cat owners think and why there are remarks here like the ones you dislike, because people who do not like your attitude get fed up to the teeth of yours and others cats and get mad about them! With an attitude such as the above TK, you'll always get remarks such as the ones already given. If the attitude you show here is anything like what you display at home then no doubt people around you do not like you are your cats at all. If that's the case then let them do what they wish to keep them from their gardens!

It would be absolutely wonderful IF a law was ever passed forcing people to walk their cats on leads, and why not indeed!!! At least half of the cats would be gone almost instantly if it did happen and I'd shed no tears over that at all. :j
