I saw something on the tv just last week, someone having the same problem. They were advised to put rubber snakes in the garden apparently cats are terrified snakes?!0

Complaining about peoples cats, for gods sake. They are someones pet, not a hazzard.
Grrrrrrrr!
Cat's are only 'domesticated' when it suits them.
I have no objection to people keeping them as pets if they wish to do so. And I mean 'keeping' like 'keeping' them in their own houses and gardens.
But, why oh why, do owners open their doors 'to let the cat out' and not care where it roams - to kill birds, fish in ponds and mess in other people's gardens.
Dog owners who acted the same would be labelled, quite rightly, irresponsible.
easymoney;
I've tried:
those sonic cat scarers - waste of money.
Jetted with hosepipe.
thrown whatever comes to hand - spuds, onions, apples, stones, soil etc.
I keep pots of gravel dotted around the garden so I can grab a handfull when needed.
.......But the damn things won't learn - they keep returning.
PLEASE cat owners - keep your cat's at home :grouphug: A smile, a 'please' and a 'thank you' cost nothing0 -
Cats are the devil I tell you.
They are fouling on my lawn, flowerbeds and gravel areas.
So annoying....... how do I get rid of them?
.... by far the best thing I've found is lion poo! Seriously. If you live near a zoo (lucky me, I do) then you can get the full-on organic product which will bring your roses on a treat. Otherwise there are lion poo pellets you can buy from various places including Amazon, if I remember correctly they are about £6 for a box.
The theory is that cats are remarkably territorial animals and will defer when they sense a bigger, harder cat. This was recommended to me by a zookeeper.0 -
My Solution, (As a die hard cat Hater, sorry but I can't stand them)
As shooting them would be illegal and cou.d not be condoned, try to find out who owns it and then scoop up the crap and set it on their doorstep. See how they like it!! May make them think twice about letting the moggies "out".Live, Love & Laugh A Lot!0 -

Actually B&Q sell a product called Zoo Poo Maybe this is the same stuff?0 -
As a cat (responsible) cat owner
1 Try small lengths of hose pipe. They imitate snakes and keep cats away.
2 The drinks bottle theory does sometimes work.
3 If you can stand it i put garlic salt on flowerbeds where I don't want her digging! It needs repeating every few days but then pilchy got into the habit of NOT using the flower beds and then occasionally I would re-apply the garlic for good measure.0 -

I think you must be taking the mickey.....you gotta be, please tell me you aint serious with that comment
Anyways, Garlic will stop cats using your garden as a litter tray. Finely chopped garlic (small as you can) and sprinkle round the garden. Garlic has a very strong smell so i presume they dont like pooping in smelly areas hehehe.
We used to have a problem with cats, but not anymore...................they are probably pooping over at Matts cos he probably wont chase em away0 -
In my experience the short answer is - you don't!
Glass bottles filled with water work to an extent but the cats seem to get used to them.
I've heard of people using pieces of mirror tiles but I don't know how successful they are.
I've used 'Scoot' & similar products with very limited success.
The most successful to date has been an infra red motion detecting tortoise (from Lidl) that wolf-whistles when the beam is broken - trust me, the cure was almost worse than the disease; but, even with the 'tortoise' turned off, it still seems to be acting as a deterent of sorts.0 -

If I ever caught you doing any of those things, you would need medical assistance to retrieve them from your backside
