Hi

We have two sonic repellers which both work really well (but only cover the bottom part of the garden) so if they sneak in at the top end I use the water pistol.

I use the Growing Success Cat Repellent and it works well for a while - the 500g tub was around £5 in B&Q.

I saw a great tip on another thread of putting strong smells on old teabags - free & fairly animal friendly.

They suggested Jeyes fluid or Olbas oil, but I've used some old pot pourri freshener oil & next time I'll try mashed garlic on them - cats don't seem to like strong smells, esp citrus & garlic.

Cats are the devil I tell you.

They are fouling on my lawn, flowerbeds and gravel areas.

So annoying....... how do I get rid of them?

Complaining about peoples cats, for gods sake. They are someones pet, not a hazzard.

You can buy some stuff in your local DIY store or B & Q called "keep off" or something like that and that will stop them :)

I have the same problem. Dog owners dont get away with letting their pet fowl in peoples gardens why should cat owners.

You are showing your ignorance with regard to the above.

    Define real problems!

I have young children in my garden I consider it to be a serious health hazzard. The risk of toxoplasmosis, other bacterial and hygeine factors, not to mention.... its unsightly and as for the smell.

You could also add that its de-valued my property because I am plagued with cats, some of which are possibly strays.

I hardly think its nothing to worry about when you have to scoop up animal !!!!!! from your garden when you don't have pets yourself!

I remember my mum and dad in their old house filling old soft drink bottles (like coke fanta etc.... with the label removed) and filling them with water and leaving them on the flower beds.

I think the theory was that the cat would see its reflection and would go away? It could be an old wives tale though, but certainly a free solution, using the old bottles after they are finished.

    RT.
