we gravelled our whole front garden and started having the cat problem! every time i seen a cat anywhere near my gate or in the garden i sent the dog or the kids out to terrify it. Once all the cats in the area had been scared off once or twice which took a couple of weeks, they didn't come back anymore. :rotfl:

The local cats have started doing you know what in my garden, and to cap it off they love ripping my bin open and leaving bits laying around for the flies  One was even sitting on the back doorstep the other day, looking in while tumble dryer was on! Whats best way of getting rid of them? Tried chucking water on them but it went over the washing :rotfl:

    Any tips?

Stare, hiss and chase them out whenever you see them. With a water pistol for extra effect. Let them know it's yours. A dominant cat would do the same. Although, TBH, I wouldn't be surpirsed if they still visited at night.

There's an old thread on this.. I think lion dung, bigger gravel, clear plastic bottles filled with water, a dog were amongst the suggestions.

I'm an animal lover and don't mind indivdual cats, but in some places there's more cats than people. Birds around most towns must hate it. They're alien predators that kill when they're not hungary. And there's no natural control. If they weren't provided for by us, they''re prey would decline, but so would the cats, allowing the birds to rebuild numbers.

    And crap everywhere of course.

It's the whole lazy no hassle pet thing.

Onions, moth balls, orange peel, all put in the areas where the cats foul........or generally play havoc, usually have some effect.

A water pistol as already suggested does help.
    I wish you......
    A sunbeam to warm you,
    A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you.
