https://www.crocus.co.uk sell the Lion dung deterrent - haven't used it myself though.0 -
If anyone has read any of my posts then they will know that the reason I want to keep cats out of my garden is because I have two adorable little Dwarf bunnies and the cats have gotten into the garden before and really worried them (and me!!).
Well, even though we have put wire mesh (with the sharp bits pointing upwards) all around our garden I have still seen a cat walking along our back fence (lickily I chased it away before it got the chance to come in).
Anyway, I have just spent £80    (should be the cat 'lovers' who paid on my behalf) on two sonic cat repellers - not the cheap Bye Bye !!!!!cat ones (they're made in foreign parts (hope I'm not going to be called a racist now!!) and even though it says that the sound is inaudible to the human ear I tried one and it drove my kids mad) so I have bought the kind made in the UK and are tested and recommended by the RSPB.
I have not seen any cats in the vicinity lately but that could just be coincidence. However, I did see a cat walking along our front street and I ran and got the deterrent and went out to the front garden and the cat ran - but that could be coincidence. But I live in hope.
Little ********!!
Anyway, I bought the deterrents on Ebay with no hassle and full guarantee for two years - and much cheaper too. If you want the details of the seller PM me. :j0 -

Next door has cats and they never messed with the rabbit or duck as both are quite good at seeing cats off.
Hope yours live a long life.0 -
Eagle1 thanks for the challenge! I have no doubt garlic cloves work keeping cats of small areas. I use 'smelly' deterrents to keep the cats off when, for example, I have a bin bag that doesn't fit in the bin.
However, my garden is about half an acre and I have problems with cats all over it. If I put garlic down in one area the cats would move to another. I'm thinking I would need a shopping trolley full of garlic (I'm not sure what would be worse - the cost or the sheer embarrassment!).
Perhaps I should have been more specific. Nothing works properly in a large garden with a committed bunch of cat intruders.0 -
Hi
I am getting well and truely annoyed with cats pooping in my garden. I wouldn't be so annoyed but my little boy likes digging in the garden and its not nice for him to be scooping up cat sh*t.
I have to keep going out there and picking it up. I must have got 2 carrier bags full in the last month.
Does anyone have any idea's about stopping it? apart from getting my own cat or dog.
Many thanks
Mark

if you see the cats try blasting them with water pistol , it may take a few soakings but they will get the message after a while0

Hi
There have been threads about this previously. I seem to remember citrus and olbas oil as a preventative measure. Personally (I know that this is going to sound terrible) when I see the little blighters getting ready to do their business in my garden I run out of the kitchen door, go straight for the cat only to see the look in its face of sheer fright and watch it scamper off with their number 2 job hanging out."I think I spent 72.75% of my life last year in the office. I need a new job!!"0 -
Hello Mark_petty
I'll move your thread to the 'Greenfingered' board, where the board guides will be able to merge your thread with their existing thread 'Help! cats using my grass as a loo (merged threads)'.............which has over 300 posts of tips and information.;)
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
