Can you not get him a collar with a bell on so that when he tries to sneak up on birds / rabbits they hear him coming?!?!

Our local Animal sanctuary has over 200 Cats more roaming around the place free than caged and I have never ever been overcome with there wastage deposits which must be vast. Now the ducks geese and chickens freefalling waste is pretty overwhelming at times and it takes a lot of hosing down to rid of there smells. At least the potbellied Pigs are Penned in one far corner and you have a choice whether to keep away or get masked up if your not use to country type smells. The situation your describing maybe involves a huge number of Cats in a small area to get that kind of buildup of poo or maybe in fact you have many foxes in the area as they do not bury there poo as most Cats seem to like to cover up but get blamed sometimes when in fact its not them at all . Rain will dilute most animal mess and render your nose safe again to breath the fresh air. As we can only really control our own Garden environment with the problem as you describe it maybe a Phone call to local authorities for advice and guidance.
The farmland adjoining us is quite vast with only 3 horses using it but because of the nature of horses continuing feeding and huge end deposits the land is covered in horse muck like a minefield and of course flies on warm days but even that calms down a lot on rainy days. I had a friend who was born with no sense of smell...it certainly can be an asset sometimes. Mrs H.0 -
Now i'm REALLY annoyed, my newly sewn (sp?) lawn is just starting to sprout, it has that lovely green haze on it and then I spot a mound in the corner where the damn cat has been and done its business once again!
Thats the final straw, how will the grass ever grow with those vermin doing that on the lawn, i'm an avid animal lover, i'm starting to lose that with these cats!!!
First thing tomorrow I will be down to Argos to get a sonic cat scarer, 200 sq/m coverage, thats the last i'll see of those things (hopefully)!!

moms got trouble with a cat. it comes in her garden (seems to live in there) and tried to eat the birds which isnt good when shes just spent how much on bird feeders. He's a lovely cat (not hers dont know whos it is) but she wants to repel it from getting at the birds..the feeders are high up and all that and not put by the cats hiding place, but it leaps and only just misses catching them. it sits there the whole day just staring at the birds. i got some stuff from home bargains that you put down (smells like really strong washing up liquid) but the cat stayed put. are there any products which repel (not harm) cats? ta.Fr. Hello pumpa
There is already a thread about keeping cats out of gardens in the 'In my home' board, so I'll move your thread across and merge it. There are lots of tips in this thread, happy reading.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

I am also at the end of my tether with my garden being used as a public toilet by the neighbourhoods cats! I have tried so many things, lemons, garlic, bleach, and the last thing ROAR which is darned expensive and has NOT worked. I am at a total loss as to what to do now
, I really cannot afford one of those sonic devices.......
