    Fidelity perhaps?

There just seems to be a pervading attitude on this thread that it is somehow a wife's "duty" to pleasure her husband, along with the idea that men have uncontrollable urges that must be immediately met or they will stray away. I really thought that I was living in 2016, and not a few centuries back, but ho hum...

I disagree that has been the attitude, but that's your opinion.

However on what basis can you demand fidelity??!!

Surely the point is to give your partner a reason not to leave, not a demand?

Is it necessary to start laying into the woman's appearance?

The DM crew have probably slapped half a ton of ageing make up on her and instructed her to look miserable, and so what if she looks a bit old for her age anyway?

I was expressing surprise at people saying how great she looked compared to her husband who got a fair bit of criticism. Did you defend him? Thought not.

  • I think it's a bit odd that she's writing it only 9 months after the birth of the youngest. She had mentioned earlier that she had got her sex drive back prior to conceiving again - surely you'd give it a bit longer than that? (note that I have not got children, but I can still imagine!).

The worst thing is that they are not communicating. In fact, they both actively say they would rather not discuss it. Doesn't sound like a healthy (or long-lasting) relationship to me...bit sad for them really.

I wonder what his mates think of it.

Edit: The other thing that struck me was that from the sounds of it, husband doesn't help out with any of the childcare. Why is it always her that's up in the night. It's all *her* children, not theirs...

I have heard so many times girlfriends having a moan about their partner not doing something they ask them to do, usually in relation to helping with the children or house chores, and then joking that they will make them pay when they claim to suffer from a headache when going to bed. I am pretty confident that in most cases, it was all talk, letting steam out etc...because they are all still -seemingly-happy married, but I can't help but wonder whether they are some women who don't just joke about it but actually use it as punishment indeed.

There are people on here who have got perilously close to the viewpoint that a man is entitled to have his way with his wife regardless of her feelings on the matter. You know there's a word for men who force themselves on women, don't you? (Note, it begins with R).

    Oh, please :rotfl:

Admitting that sex is (usually) a normal and important part of a healthy relationship is hardly akin to being a rape apologist.

    Except on this board, perhaps!!

    Or his. .

Fair point. There's no need to unkind about either party's appearance.
  • Being cuckolded for life at the age of 26? No thanks.

I'm not sure why this is news exactly. I just know I feel sorry for the poor fella. Also, what point is there in him making any kind of effort when the woman he'd planned to spend the rest of his life with tells the world he makes her skin crawl when she touches him? Jesus.

    How is anyone defending her?

I feel sorry for him. He obviously loves her, and is commited to the family having had multiple kids with her. Shame she is repulsed by him.

Not a healthy relationship. Easy to stick head in the sand in this situation but it'd probably be better for them both to separate and have an amicable arrangement over the kids.

Yes, sex IS important to a relationship. I don't believe a relationship can succeed without a healthy sex life. There are very, very few exceptions to this..

Surely he's only cuckolded if she has an affair with another man?

I think a lack of a sex life is one thing, the world and his wife being told you make your wife's skin crawl is another. Poor bloke.
