odds n sods ~ ask smokey babe for technical help she is GREAT , I managed it myself but certanly couldn't talk anyone through it! You can be member2 if you like:T

Right guys here's a good one for you:

Tadpole 1 went for a sleepover last night at a friends. they are both 11, She's been there before and was really excited. Was supposed to pick her up at lunch time today. She phoned at 9.15 and wanted to come home NOW!

I knew there was a problem but she couldn't talk infront of the mother so I made an excuse and we left. She said she had slept badly and had a stiff kneck , but I knew there was more to it than that.

In the car she sobbed uncontrolably. She said that her friends younger sister who is 9 had come into the bathroom while my tadpole was in there getting dressed. She locked them both in and wouldn't let her out until she showed her her bottom and "minnie". My tadpole refused and she said this went on for 10 mins. Tadpole got upset and threatened to tell the mother and only then did she let her out.

I have said all of the questions you'd expect like why didn't she punch her (!) but tadpole thought she would then get into trouble. She said she was shouting for help but no one heard as they were downstairs.

Ok the question is , do I say something to the mother my friend? Tadpole is off to a different high school so she wont see her again unless she makes an effort to. Do you think I should just forget it and put it down to a 9 yr old being silly, or should her mother know?

    Morning all!

Anyone want a Hula Hoop? We have a years supply of them here, OH won them, hehe!

Happy anniversary to Aussielass! Tell your daughter I'm mega jealous of her going to see Silverchair and Powderfinger!! I love them both! I've not seen Powderfinger live, but have done with Silverchair, when they came to the UK in 2003-would love to see them now Daniel has turned into a hunk of a man! Natalie Imbruglia has done wonders!

I'd love to join the weight loss group, I have at least a stone to shift, although I won't join now as I need to build up my strength again as the physio said I was even too weak to do much physio-way to make me feel better! Once I've started though, I'll be swimming once or twice a week and they have a free gym at my new job (for the school staff it's free, how cool?) so once I'm stronger, I'll slowly start my cardio routine again :)

Not been on for a couple of days as have been at my parents place-Mum had her make up done this morning! Although yesterday I had to do a Mc Donalds run-OH and Dad said she must be feeling awful if she wanted that! Haha. But it's what she wanted, so yeah.

Can't believe I start my new job on Monday, and I'll be 25 in a weeks time-scary!!

Have a good Saturday and hugs for those who need/want xx

NATZINI - Good luck with the new job on Monday. OMG - you're so young I could be your mum, or even your gran!

SMOKY - (((hugs))) to you and your DH. Hope everything goes well.

AUSSIE - I thought you were drinking a bit early in the morning 'til I remembered where you are!

CSARINA - that is some machine. Please post pics of all the things you make with it - I'm longing to see what it does!

FROGGA - I don't really know what to say about the distressing incident with your DD. There's no way she should have had to go through that. I think it's very unusual behaviour for a nine year old girl, though. I'll be interested to hear what everyone else thinks but I honestly don't know what I would do in that situation. At least she felt able to tell you which is a good thing.

Welcome to I WANNA - nice to meet you.

Well, I made some fairy cakes then went to the gym and will have lunch in a minute. It started off quite promising this morning but now it looks and feels like rain. Will have a couple of hours on the sofa this afternoon alternating between reading, knitting and dozing then I have some paperwork I need to sort out. Ironing will get done tomorrow - it's only been me here since Tuesday so the pile is not that big yet. As I fly to France on Thursday, I need to sort out what I'm taking. I also need to sort out DS1's birthday presents before I go. It's both his and my birthday on Friday - and the day I met my DH - so it's an important day. I shall be in France being treated to something, apparently. I don't know what DH has planned. We didn't have much money when I turned 50 and he has always regretted not being able to do something symbolic on the day so he wants to make up for it on my 55th (OMG - am I really that old? I don't feel it!).

Anyway, off for lunch. Will call in later. Have a great Saturday, everyone and good luck to everyone in FROGGA's weightloss club.

Amie-I'm just reading yesterdays thread and in answer to your question, I'm not sure when the new Primark is opening, my friend and I walked up to have a nosey at it last Saturday, but all the sign said was 'Coming in Autumn 2007'.

We also think that New Look might be going in where Primark is right now, as their lease is up for sale! I'd love a bigger New Look and hopefully one that stocks the 36 inch leg jeans! Their jeans are so lovely, but I have to go to Crawley or Bognor to get the 'tall' ones! Although when I was at Bluewater yesterday I saw that even that New Look didn't stock the tall stuff-so I stuck to buying a pair from Dotty Ps with my Pigsback voucher and 10% off when I showed my Teachers Union card!

PS how is your DD doing now?

  • Afternoon all
Stress levels are rising high today, hubby & I have been invited to a wedding reception tonight & we were planning to stay overnight in a nearby hotel (it's the nearest thing we'll have to a holiday this year) I have a new lodger arriving ready to start the new term on Monday, I did explain that hubby & I would be away tonight, but it seems that the only flight available arrived at 8:30 this morning. We've cancelled the hotel as I don't feel comfortable leaving someone I don't know alone in the house over night, added to the fact that she is arriving with 2 friends & I want to be here to make quite sure they do not stay with us. The filght definately landed on time & I've made it quite clear that hubby & I will be leaving at 3 this afternoon. It seems she has, against my advice, gone shopping!!!
So now what do I do, leave at 3 anyway & leave her with nowhere to stay? Miss the wedding reception? Grrrr, I'm not a happy bunny, I know it's only 1o'clock, but her train from Gatwick would have arrived at 11:45.
Oh well, we'll wait & see, I'm loath to abandon her in a foreign country, but she is a fully qualified teacher & so surely is intelligent enough to look after herself.
Hope everyone has a good day, back to work fulltime here tomorrow, so I can't see me having chance to get online much.
    Hugs Hester

OOOOOOOHHHHHH ive just turned over to the new page on my Brad Pitt calander...Tasty !!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the reminder - it's New Johnny Depp Day here! Yay! it's glasses and 'tache Johnny depp this month - niiiiiiiiiiiiice.

dds and dgs are with their dad camping in the new forest with his new girlfriend - they say she's really nice - good for her! He came to mine before he went and took all the sleeping bags - unfortunately two of them were nasty from Reading Festival - there was a cunning clue though in the fact that they were in the washing basket :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: dds were not happy and made him buy new ones. Dgs is scared of tents, sleeping bags and horses it seems so he's not having the best of times - bless
bit of drama in the night - dd's best friend was taken to hospital with suspected meningitis and dd wanted me to go visit her and to help her mum as she doesn't speak much english. As the friend was in isolation and I don't speak somali I called her instead and told her to call me any time if she felt lonely. Poor lamb - they had several goes of trying to do a Spinal Tap. Anyway the good news is that she doesn't have meningitis and is on her way home. I will go and see her later and take some veggies from the garden for her Mum.
am having a major housework blitz for the rest of the day and will also try and finish knititng a pair of socks - I need to knit about 25 pairs for christmas pressies

    have a brilliant day
