OS Saturday September 1st 2007

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

RABBITS...............

That will teach me to spend cash on a sewing machine, can't sleep......not sure if its excitement or horror!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have taken my other medication tonight and so far its ok, so guess it must have been something I ate.......will have to have a think.

OH is snoring fit to bust, wish I could sleep like that at least now I do not have to go downstairs, I just walk through into the living room. I was going to try and post a piccy of the machine but not too sure how to do it, might try later when some of you knowledgeable ones are around.........

Off to surf for a bit...................
September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

Goodmorning Csarina & all to follow,

Well today is the first day of spring here :T it's also our wedding anniversary. 28 [strike]long[/strike] years :D I usually parade around in my wedding dress for a brief minute but I'd say the island air would have shrunk that too. ;)

Went and picked up my library books this morning. I finally got my grubby little hands on Hovel in the Hills & the Little House Collection so that's my week sorted out. :D Rain is due so what perfect timing.

I'm off to mow the front yard and footpath shortly. DH is doing cupboards in the pantry and upstairs. I've bought some wine so me & DH will chill out later and have a toast. DD has gone to a concert tonight. Powderfinger & Silverchair. They could only get tickets in the mosh pit . She's so over mosh pits but she's been a big fan of Silverchair since she was in her teens.

Csarina The sewing machine sounds great. It's lovely to treat yourself every now and again and you definatley have deserved it. Hope you got back to sleep.

Have a lovely day to one & all and (((hugs))) to those under the weather. Byeeeeeeeeeeee

Moiliere We do have charity shops here. Lots of em. :)
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Good Morning CSARINA and Happy Anniversary to MR AND MRS AUSSIELASS!

CSARINA - I would love to see a photo of your new machine. Don't have nightmares about it - you do such a lot of sewing that I'm sure it's money well spent.

AUSSIELASS - I've often wondered whether other countries have charity shops as we know them. I know in the USA they have thrift shops which I assume is the same thing. In France, there are a few in Paris (not exactly charity shop prices, though!) but, in the rest of the country, they have what is known as 'Emmau's' which are nowhere near as exciting as ours. The French are not such a throwaway society as us!

Well, I was absolutely cream-crackered when I went to bed last night - I only read for about 2 seconds! I still feel a bit tired now so heaven knows what I'll be like once I've been to the gym! I have a baking and chutney-making session planned for today but might do that before the gym - I'll have run out of steam afterwards! I must also decide what I'm packing to take to France on Thursday because that will be here before I know it!

Well, off to make another cuppa then jump in the shower so will stop by later. Have a great morning, everyone!

need to post a letter, and get some food in but might give that a miss as the shops will be packed with it being payday weekend after a 5 week month.
skip came yesterday so garage looks great. all clean and empty. And as last time, have promised never to let it get as bad again ;)

csarinaknight - Hope that you managed some sleep.
    Aussielass - Happy Anniversary

    Good morning all,

Rude awakening by dd at 5.55 this morning, I went and got her milk and me some tea so she wouldn't disturb dh and dad so we're up but in the bedroom, dd has gone off somewhere but its fairly quiet, i'm watching Balamory! I can feel my brain melting out of my ear.
Operation nursery is begining today, it should have begun a fair few weeks ago but dh can always find something else to do. I came home yesterday and dh seems to have gone mad - its finally dawned on him that the baby will be here in less that 2 weeks, this is no real suprise, we have known this for some time really.
Nothing exciting happening today, dd has a swimming lesson at lunch time, I need to go to the supermarket either today or tomorrow and we need to go and buy a car seat (another dh long story  ) There will also be a b&q visit and the smallest nursery in the world will start to be painted.

    Have a good day all
    Alison

Morning. That Birdman comp sounds like a laugh, I have seen it on the news before.
A few days off for me, a nice change. I did 39 hours overtime in August, so looking forward to the break and the October pay packet:j .

I am not sure what to do today. I need to have a big sort out, I know that much. Everywhere is full of junk. E-bay, Boot sale and freecycle are going to get considered this weekend.

I looked at my vegetable garden last night. Man it's pathetic. The wet summer had ruined everything. There are weeds everywhere and nothing has grown very well. The onions are small, the corn, tiny. What a mess. I might just kill everything with weedkiller....

Time to take the dog out, feed the rabbits, let the chickens out, and ducks... etc...

    cheers
